When she was on chicken I tried the slivers and she took a piece like the size of the tip of my thumb and she ate I think two or three. I was sure if that would be an okay way to try her on slivers. Also this raw diet doesnt make them fat does it? I would hate to have an obese ferret no offense to anyone but obesity in any animal is really not good for them.

Lol no raw does not make them fat. Kits are like our little ones, they do put on baby weight and then they lose it. How old is Shelby again? About the same as George right? She shouldn't have any issues with slivers or even chunks or small bones right now. But let's work on slivers first if she takes to them easily then you can up the size every time you feed her.

Yes I beleive they are basically the same age. My issue with bones though is all I have is quail. I didnt buy anything else with bones because I was scared she might have a sensitivity to it. Since she is to chicken so I am stuck on finding things bone in. I have probably already asked but its been a while and I cant remember a thing.

Quail is great to start with and start is all we are looking to do right now. Duck necks are good also and rabbit ribs are great, probably not easy to find though (the rabbit ribs I mean) let's just do one step at a time though and slivers to chunks it is!

Perfect I have beef stir fry stuff what ever it is. Its like thin pieces of meat I will thaw out and try to get her to eat it. Actually shes been really easy to get her to eat stuff which I am blessed.

So I lied about the beef. I have no idea where it went and now I am really confused. Anyways I will just give her chunks of the ground beef for now. I cant go to the store for a couple days unfortunatly.

Awesome I will try that tomorrow. I am pretty excited! So I found pretty much a whole duck it doesnt have its head but it looks like it has the ribs and what not. Could I use that as a bone in meal? If I cut it ip appropriatly?

When you say found you mean in the grocery store, right? :heehee: yes duck and turkey require a bit of prep (chopping) but are great for her. Some of the larger bones may require smashing but should be totally workable.

So she eats the chunks which is good. Energy is great and poops are pretty consistent except for random thinner not formed but not watery poops. It also could be that I am not consistent with the amount of water sometimes the soup is thinner other times its thicker so that could be it. All are brown sometimes greyish tint. I assume because of the extra egg shell.

I think she is doing great with the beef and you are doing great with her! Have you been able to find any thing like duck necks or pork rib tips? I think it's time you be on the lookout for things with bones she can eat. I think in another week you can try chicken again to see if it was just stress related or an actual sensitivity to it, but in the meantime look for small non weight bearing bones that are not chicken for her. I order mine from hare today.
