She is fully eating from the bowl now...she ate one hour ago and now she just ate again. If anything she is taking in more than what I am able to get. She has already had 2.6oz today! I love that prednisolone with proper dose!!!
Now to get her to gain some weight, which will now come in time with the way she's been eating!!

Yay! She's getting better! If she is Adrenal, the Lupron will help with her energy and appetite even more. 2-3 oz a day is good for a female, she's eating well and should start putting on weight soon, Pred causes weight gain also. It's up to you if you want to star Sulcrate, personally I would just because I've had 2 with ulcers and I have peptic ulcers myself, and Pred is pretty rough on their tummies.

Well I'm happy to say that Bella has eaten on her own all day!! So far she is at 4.9oz! I cannot wait to test her BG in 6 days!!
I do have one questions in regards to Mia hurting Bella. At times Mia licks Bella's ears and tugs at them to the point that Bella cries. Anybody have any idea why she is doing that?? She's been doing that since I got them.
Any ideas why is greatly appreciated.

Yay! Lets try and get to 5 oz, hehehe. That's a good amount, more than my Marcie is eating right now and she is a giant chubby piggy, lol. Mia could have been pulled from the litter too early (all Marshall's are) and didn't learn not to bite. Licking their ears is grooming and is showing affection, pulling at them is probably her not knowing. When they're young mom and their siblings teach them this, but she may not have had a chance to learn.

Just hit over 5oz, she just ate another 0.5OZ!
Mia is not a Marshall, Bella is. I wonder if it has to do with the ear mites??

Awesome, over 5 oz that's great!
What kind of ferret is Mia? Which one had the ear mites, Bella? How long have you had them again? Sorry my mind is mush right now lol, waiting for some pork heart to thaw because stupid me didn't thaw enough... Agh lol

If one ferret has mites then they all will. Mites are always shared. That's why when a ferret comes in with mites everyone, dog, cat and ferrets have to be treated. Chances are the little one is suckling on the other's ears. She can cause damage (cauliflower ear) so try not to allow her to do this ciao

Mia is an Albino. They both have the mites. I've had them since November 16th and I had noticed brown stuff in their ears then but thought it was wax. So I just kept cleaning it out. Even my vet thought it was just wax until she tested it. I'm thawing meat too they went through their food quickly this last time. lol Heather do you know why she would be suckling at Bella's ears? And biting them too? I always pull her away, but I worry if she does it when I'm not around to handle it.

Weaned too early is often the issue. Try offering her a chicken wing to chew on. You will have to introduce her but hopefully she will put her insecurities into the chicken wing instead of her friend's ears ciao

Was Mia from a different mill or a breeder? Just curious, I forget Marshalls ferts are mostly just overun in the states.
How is Bella feeling today?

Thank you Heather I will definitely try the chicken wing again, I've tried in the past with no luck, but will not give up.

Yes my question was where did Mia come from? A back yard breeder? A different mill? Is she an RC? Bella's appetite is good, lets hope she keeps it up and gains some weight.

The only way you can trace a ferret is by their tat. If they don't have one then guessing if they're from a breeder (and not all breeders are BYB) or which of the farms that don't tat, Path Valley, Triple F (a Marshals supplier), Carolina Ferrets to name a couple. ciao
