Also, gfountain, my ferret knows what to do with the bone (chicken neck). Hes been going at it trying to eat it, but hes had it in there over night and hasn't made too much progress. Do you think that its because he's so young maybe he needs stronger teeth? Still has a couple hours before it goes bad so I'll leave it in there till then to see what happens (: Later on today hes getting some liver and I'm going to be looking into where I can get other organs

You can rinse off any debris on his fur with just water. Water won't dry out their skin, but using soaps will. The only time I've used soap has been when urine/feces is involved, and I keep it only concentrated to the affected area.

Neck bone is pretty dense. Even my expert crunchers will leave those if there's anything else available. Try something smaller, a wing or CGH, and save the necks for later when he gets bigger and stronger.
As far as baths, I don't have a set schedule. Mine get washed if they're dirty, with plain water. My two big boys get their tummies rinsed pretty often because of pee belly, but the other two only get wet if they choose to jump in the shower or if they get themselves covered in something that won't come off with water, like the time my silly boy decided to climb a pine tree and got covered in sap.

Yes that's normal, especially if he had liver. Liver, heart and other organs most always make for loose, runny and even black/tarry poops. After a meal of organs/heart you want to follow it up with a bone meal, so I would give him something with bone for breakfast and that should help.

Are those pics of the little one you just got. Not 2 weeks and definitely not 2 months either. This is a pic of 5 week old kits This kit is 7 weeks I'm thinking your kit is about 6 or 7 weeks. That means that just after that kits eyes opened if that he was torn away from his mom. Watery stools is a high risk situation in baby ferrets and vetting is necessary. Babies can go down hill in an hour or two. This is a pic of a 6 month old ferret if loose watery stools persist get your little one to the vet immediately. ciao They are GORGEOUS Heather!!! I want one just like that!!!

Hehe @bellasophia, I've told Heather countless times that one day I'm going to catch a flight up there and steal all the meepers.. Mwhuahaha. Next litter I call dibs! I don't want to steal them, but I just might have to. (idea)

You can deal with Momma Lola...she's h*ll on furry feet. To handle the meepers I had to entice her out of the nursery into the ferret room. She even got upset with me if I stole her poopies out of the litter box. I was allowed to stand there and watch, take pictures...well until she came and took the babies back into the nest. She would always give the stink-eye as she pulled the flap of the nest closed over the babies so I couldn't see them anymore. ciao

@rlopez71 I have a large corner litter box on each floor of their Ferret Nation cage. I was also hoping to have the pooping downstairs and the sleeping upstairs but they decided it was going to be different. lol

Does Momma Lola still act protective over them? I'd be afraid to cross her path, lol.

Hey guys, just a little update. I found some beef kidney at HEB so woot I got another organ so I can mix half and half on organ days! I think that should about fix up my original menu right? He's been doing pretty good about eating his meat,I've had no problems except that I've overfed him and he leaves some behind...still working on the whole portions, need to weigh before and after to see about how much of what he eats. On heart days... is about two chicken hearts ok?

Can you create another menu with the other organ and post it?
Remember, 7-9 Bone In Meals 3-4 Muscle meals (one being heart) Half Liver - Half Other Organ Half Heart - 1/4 Liver - 1/4 Other Organ At least One Red Meat meal A minimum of 3 different proteins (can work on adding new proteins though)
