Had to induce vomiting in Koda this morning. He ate part of an iPhone charge cord that fell off he table and into his crinkle tunnel - a nice little present as he saw it. I got up at 10:30, let them out a little bit after I got up. Induced vomiting at 11:30. I heard him in the tunnel maybe 20 min before I found him, and that is where the cord had fallen was IN the tunnel so we induced within 30 min of him eating it. He definitely ate it, it's an old double cord so we were able to compare it's original length, and we searched thoroughly for scattered pieces. He definitely emptied his stomach after 2 rounds of hydrogen peroxide and he's still intermittently dry heaving a lot - but no wires were brought up. I'm terrified of the risk of perforation with those wires, esp since he didn't throw them up. Waiting another hour or so and giving him some watered down baby food. If he holds that down okay I will start vaso and pumpkin. I pray that no one ever has to do this to their babies. Inducing vomiting is one of the most awful things...it's a horrible experience that I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy. Anyways, needing positive thoughts over here.

Oh no! Poor you and poor poor Koda. It's times like these I wish we could talk to them and make them understand. What a silly thing for him to eat. I really hope that he is okay and has just stashed it someone you haven't thought to look, or that it comes out nice and easy with the pumpkin and vaseline.

Oh no! My heart sank when I saw the subject line. I'm so sorry you have to go through this again (and again). At least you exactly what to do and how to do it -- Koda is very lucky in that regard. I'm sending you good thoughts and healing vibes.

Thanks guys. Sadly this is almost routine for us at this point - but that doesn't make it one ounce easier. :,( Koda looks and feels like poop, but that's because mommy shoved poison into his stomach this morning. Last time we induced vomiting he was sick for a week or two after. It's really rough on them and not something to be done lightly, that's for sure. Have some pepsid on hand and will be picking up some carafate. Right now he's had three very small feedings of pumpkin+baby food+ warm water soup and I just gave him his first dose of vaso which was a fight. I think the Vaseline goopy texture irritated his mouth since he clawed it up vomiting. He's still retching a lot but seems to be holding the food down so that's good. No poops yet but he only got food about 2 hours ago and I robbed him of his breakfast so it's not like be had anything in him to poop. Oh and I have a test on Monday and a bad cold to top it off. I swear he plans these things... Shane thinks he's just doing it for the extra attention. LOL Rotten beast has us both running every time we hear a cough. *sigh*

Ladies and Gentlemen we have a poop! And in it - about 1/3-1/2 of the eaten wire! The wire was still encased in rubber so let's hope the rest is the same and that it passes as easily. Ooooh we're halfway there ooooh living on a prayer...!

well 3rd poop still no more cord... I was starting to worry bc he wasn't wanting to eat much soup, but I guess he was just tired of baby food. lol I mixed some egg and salmon oil and he guzzled that down - as long as it's slippery and going in one end and out the other I'm not complaining. Would REALLY like to see the other part of that cord though....
