I cleaned the ferret rooms this weekend and it was awful so much stashed chicken. It's been almost 2 months on raw is it possible they are just eating less and I should reduce what I feed them? I don't mind it being stashed but other fuzzies that don't stash as much are licking the plate. I've watched all of them eat whole wing tips so I can't say the pieces are too big.

Stashing is a natural behavior, and awfully hard to curb. Mine are free roam and sometimes I envy those Ferrents who only feed in the cage.
I have two big time stashers and so I check their stash spots every day and pick up their treasures. They just love them "Jerkified" and Wynstan and Juliet get very anxious when they see me doing this.
I've found that the bigger pieces get stashed and the smaller pieces get eaten right then and there.
Also, I have forgotten to look for some markets for you. I hope to get to that this afternoon.

It could help to feed less, but also a feeding den helps the stashing sometimes. If you think about WHY a ferret stashes it's food (well one of them...) is because it wants to eat in a 'safe' environment. If they don't feel 'safe' from 'predators' while eating or feel safe to leave their food then they will take off and stash and hide their food for later. Feeding dens will not always change this behavior, but it also allows you to hang the meat so they can not take off with it as easily. I always think mine are doing to great and not stashing it until I find a hoard somewhere (sometimes in, sometimes OUT of the cage...) that is likely a little bit of food from the last few weeks. I think it is something that none of us get away from completely.

I've got a lot of spots in the 8 room like under the cage in the closet corners where they love to pee and poo and it is such a pain to clean. The bottom shelf in the cage the second shelf on the right cage jrs bed on the top left, tonto and gazs plastic house, card board is all being removed because they are stash spots, the tube, oh and behind jrs bed in the cage. There was just sooo much uneaten chicken. I'll be trying the dens now the questions in multiple small dens or 2 big ones?

I personally use one large one for my 3, but I think it will depend on how they react. Some are more dominate and will not eat together so you might still get some stashing from the less dominate one trying to get some food too. Then two dens would be appropriate. Here is a thread on some different ideas: holisticferret60.proboards.com/thread/4544/feeding-den-setups

My three are food hoarders. They will eat about half & then hoard - even mince hehe. Often when wings & chicks get given they fight over where the first one is stashed & they steal from each others corner before they settle down to eat properly hehehee I do feed them in their hutch and have managed to gauge the food levels that they eat each meal that often all that is left in their stashes are nobbly bone ends which I clear every few days

Right now I have this problem dib and Clyde my fat boys want to take everyone's food they'd rather take someone's then get it off the plate. I can get them to take it from me which will deter them for awhile but they always come back to harass some one. Tiny little gaz was under the cage trying to eat her pork chunk last night and Clyde was trying to steal it. They did the same thing to pepper. Dib even tried to still Clydes pork.
