Yes. And Pimm watches very carefully. Sometimes I see and it scares me. But he's more of a frat boy and rolls with things if someone else tells him it's a good idea. Pimm has (mostly) figured out the stairs by watching Cocchi and Raven and occasionally getting knocked down them by the same duo. He's still figuring out and getting the strength to get all the way up by himself (wooden stairs so he slips a lot). He's pretty funny when I check on him when he's been trying for a while. Invariably he'll spot my head peeking around the corner and he LEAPS with wee front legs spread up 'WOMAN! COME GET ME!! I stuck.' I'm trained.

I win the prize for now with putting up with 8 hobs and a vhob hehe. There is constant drama during breeding season, the tv soaps have nothin on this crew. My vhob is by far the happiest guy in the world with 7 whole jills here. They all come in at the same time and he stays very busy, the poor boy next to him gets really angry and shakes his cage when the vhob has a "guest". There is a privacy curtain up! Then, of course the jills turn into mountain goats and love to climb and say hi to everyone. It's a battle trying to outwit them. At least they are all housed in a huge area and get out to exercise their frustrations. Deciding who to "fix" soon to help some. I mentioned the other day to Linda that the season was starting and she got quiet and said" oh crap, already?" Yup, gotta be nuts to breed ferrets or if not you will be! Maybe we should start a guessing game as to how long you will stand it until you cave Sheila!! Just kidding, I have faith you can do it.

Well Finn makes it worth putting up with his stink when waddles over and gently paws at my foot and looks up at me like "Hey I want attention!" Or when he turns into a relaxed blob in my arms while I'm scratching his back and he's doing a great job grooming my arm the whole time (and nearly licking the skin right off ;D)

The prize is yours, I can't imagine keeping 8 wee hobs peaceable. Love the privacy curtain thing ciao

Thanks guys I don't want 8 hobs, it just happens that way sometimes when deciding who grows into something worth breeding. Yes, had to do the privacy curtain for the rest of the gang so they would not be at least too upset but you know, they know of course....Finns bro is a card. The other day it was spa day and as I would get each ferret out to clip nails , clean ears etc he would come up, grab my pant leg and pullllll. I kept having to shush him away but it was a grand game. He loves to grab on and sleigh ride my pants legs too as does his dad. Nothing like going around topping off food bowls with a hob attached to your pants! Then their's the jills that seem to think a hooman is for shoulder or head rides, I guess they think I'm just a big amusement park ride. ;D

To add on topic, my vhob is a real pistol and was chosen in part because of that as I want a vhob to get down to business when needed. Nothing funnier than seeing a 6 lb hob with his head in the coirner like a bad boy at school and a jill half his size screeching at him. The look on his face is priceless. So, vhobs still act exactly like a whole hob, just shooting blanks.

Oh, you've got a pant dragger too.....I was thinking I was the only one with a hob who is such a suck-up that if I'm in the kitchen getting the sickies' dinners and meds, he's hanging off my pant leg and riding around on my foot I feel like I've got a 2 yr old all over again. He makes such plaintive mutterings beggings to be picked up and snuggled. He will climb up my pant leg and sit on my foot and hangs from my knee while I'm working. If I sit down, he will climb into my lap and expect to be snuggled. Got to love those hobs ;D. ciao

Aww your hobs are so funny! Finn doesn't try to climb my pant leg or pull on it, but he is REALLY into scratches! More than ever, when he's in rut. Which is ironic, just when he's at his most greasy and stinky, that's when he wants to be cuddled the most lol... He will just go limp for 5 to 10 minutes straight while I scratch his back, around his ribs, neck, head, etc. and the whole time he's licking my arm or hand or shirt or whatever is closest, or if there is nothing in reach he'll just lick his paw ;D Usually I stop after a few minutes, he would take more of that treatment! Once I'm done, my hands are completely sticky, when I touch my fingers together I can feel the stickiness of the greasy almost waxy residue, and I can even feel it built up a little under my fingernails ;D I then have to scrub my hands and arms up to my elbows and throw my shirt in the dirty laundry and be careful not to spread it around the house ;D How can something so stinky and and dirty be so cute? ;D

Pimm is getting to be snugglier. He actually asked for some love a few days ago when I was sitting and watching them play. He's been watching Raven, I think, because the request came out as a huge flop down beside me and HUGE sighs until I put him on my leg and scratched his back. While Cocchi was climbing my back, of course.

That must be a family trait. Onyx does the same thing and has from the start. I call it his "and then the dog died" act. (That's an old, old joke BTW.)

I think they pass it on. Some kind of brotherhood thing. ;D I hope they don't get into a pathetic contest with me around.
At least neither of the kits has adopted his rug-shark habit. Good thing Raven has a wicked tail-slap going so I can hear him winding up under the rugs and getting ready to pounce Glad I bought those rugs NOT to walk on. *sigh* There might be a ferret under them.
