Poor wee thing. She's so lucky to be with you. Her poor neck. When is the last time that she's been touched. How could they hurt her so badly. Congratulations, on taking in this little soul. Thank you ciao

And here's hoping with that blasted collar off, her nipping will start to reduce as well. That looks so painful

That first pic is soo cute ! But the poor thing, people like that shouldn't be allowed pets ! I 'rescued' a ferret mid last year from a fam friend who hadn't been fed for 3 whole days (he past away several months later ). Your new fuz is lucky to have you !!

Aw I can't wait to see how pretty she is after being on a better diet! She looks like her fur is soo scraggly! I bet it will be super soft and shiny on raw though! And that sore! Poor girl! So glad you took her in.

Poor little lady! Thank you for taking her in! She's gorgeous, and I can't believe that those owners allowed her to get that awful sore and fed her such crappy stuff! I love the name Penelope! I'd be tempted to call her Princess Penelope.

She seems to be settling in well. You should have seen her when I put her in the playpen, she was so excited, dooking and dancing all over!! Poor girl had been sitting in that little cage for 7 or 8 months!! Now she can learn to be a real ferret. I went out of my way with these people when they first got her, lent them Ferrets for Dummies, donated a couple hammies, told them as much as I could... yet she still ended up like this! The first day they got her, I was telling myself, "This won't last long. They don't know what they're doing. She'll end up here eventually." And several months later, here she is! These people also have a boxer pup who stays on their small porch all day long. There's poo and pee everywhere, and she just sits there. It's so sad. They said they're trying to get rid of her, but I don't know anyone who would want a boxer pup and I can't take in another dog. Two are enough for me! I'm just glad they're going to get rid of her, anywhere has got to be better. They don't need pets, and they seem to realize this now. So now I am at five ferrets, largest group I've ever owned. I'm sending off her ADV test this morning and can't wait for her to play with the other fuzzies. She is going to have a good life here, and I am so glad I got her. She is a real sweety and deserves better.

I'd be tempted to call her Princess Penelope. That is exactly what I thought! I think I remember you talking about it when these neighbors first got her...
