I'm trying to train Nibbler and I'd like some good positive reinforcement treats. Unfortunately, he does not like the 'nutripet' I have (it's malt flavoured. Brand that the rescue I try to help out uses.). Weirdly he does love his laxative haha.
What are some good ideas for rewards?

I've always used salmon oil in a spoon as a treat. My girls absolutely love the stuff.
I order the grizzly salmon oil brand.

Salmon, cod or olive oil. Ferretone if you're not bothered by the preservatives they use. Freeze dried raw or jerky (gotta be careful where you source it though- that Chinese crap has been recalled before). It may not be feasible to use pieces of raw meat or egg some times, but if you can they are excellent as treats as well as normal feed. Some people use commercial treats, so long as you read the ingredients carefully they can be ok. (Such as the Wysong Dream Bites.) I have a package of the Wellness Pure Bites I am trying to use up.

If you are going the raw route then my girls love pinkies or dehydrated duck feet.

Is it ok to feed a ferret cooked egg yolk? Was thinking if I cut it up it might be good for reward treats at home.

great. I tried him on olive oil yesterday. He licked it when it was on my fingers once, then ignored it. Keep trying? Found some liver treats. 100% liver, oven dried slices. From an Australian who didn't like what she was able to find on the market. He eats it, but seems to have had enough today!

Mine refuse EVOO straight up. I have to cut it with fish oil for them to accept it

EVOO- Extra Virgin Olive Oil, sorry ;D For the fish oil, look in the supplement section of the grocery store(pharmacy section). I get it there, and it comes in gel caps which I poke a hole in and squeeze into the EVOO.

oh wow. haha. Didn't realise it'd be so complicated to get fish oil! I'll go shopping again soon. He doesn't like what we have here instead of tone.

Mix the two, half and half, then start reducing the tone

Some treats my guys get are: Unsalted butter ( spread on their bellies makes for easy nail trimming). Mayonnaise - one of Roman's absolute favorites. Colby Jack cheese Plain Vanilla Ice cream (a once in a month or longer super treat). Heavy Whipping Cream. Spaghetti or macaroni noodle - another once in a month or longer treat.
Keep in mind that any food eaten three or more times in a week has moved from "treat" to part of the diet! So really the bet treat to offer is a good rub, massage, some play time etc. instead of something tasty.

only problem, Sherry is that he doesn't like the nutripet we have here instead of tone. I sort of just want treats to offer as a reward for positive reinforcement.
