I picked up a free 6# rabbit from a friend who breeds them for food. It is sitting in my freezer at the moment. If I put it in there frozen, how long will it last in a bedroom that stays between 60-65 degrees? Do I need to cut the front teeth and nails that are about 1/2"? Do I need to remove any of the fur?

I"m guessing that it's already been gutted? You will want to do that . How many ferrets are we feeding and how good are they at eating? I pull back the jacket because farm raised ferrets have beautiful coats, far thicker than wild ferrets and they think it's disgusting. I never trim nails or teeth...ferrets can deal with those ciao

It has not been gutted. We tried them on a 2 pound rabbit last month and they tore right through it, guts and all. There was nothing left. Not even fur. My concern is all the fur and the sharpness of the teeth and nails.

If it's extremely fresh, it will last for a while. Up to about 48 hours.

From frozen you have 3-4 days before it's going to get smelly ime. You can always chop it in half once thawed or just take out a chunk and refreeze or throw in the fridge while they work on the rest, if you think they won't finish in a timely manner.

Yes it would be from frozen. Good, then I don't have to try to get a knife through it. It was in our deep freez.
