Nyx has always been willing to take live mice and sometimes she will even eat a little. Now and them Hades will even make a kill and have a nibble.
Tonight on the way home we bought some mice for the snakes and I got two extra for the ferrets.
Nyx happily killed them and stacked them like cord wood. We cut them up and half got frozen and the other half was given to them as dinner. Nyx and Hades loved it. Snooty little Zeus of course won't touch a single piece, little but head.

Nyx and Hades have always shown interest. Nyx was only about 6 months when I got her and I introduced her to mouse hunting right away because I was hoping she would still have the instinct. Hades will hunt but only sometimes. Zeus couldn't care less about the mice dead or alive. Not sure what to do to get him interested.
Nyx and Hades have actually had a mouse meal once before. I had set them up in the bathroom for the kill and after they where done I let them keep the mouse to see what they would do. The fought over stashing it as they do with the toys then they ate some, still fighting over it of course. They made a really mess. lol Normally they don't eat them though so I freeze them for the snakes.

Zeus you would likely have to do a raw switch with first, then slowly introduce pinkies mixed in with his meat, etc.

Oh they are all on raw. I actually bought some Lamb and Turkey today to try and expand the meats they will eat. I am also going to go to Costco soon and get some ground pork. Good prices there on ground pork and it means we can use it if they won't eat it. Got some chicken necks as well, and a fresh bottle of Salmon oil as we are almost out.
Speaking of I was reading a post on one of my FB group about the Salmon Oil. They said you should only give your ferrets 1/4 teaspoon twice a week. I give them about that daily with the morning meal. Is that harmful to them?
I want to find a good supplier that can ship here to get rodents from. Post store just costs to much. I want to breed one day but they just small so bad and our house is to poorly ventilated for it. I breed the dwarf hamsters for my snakes but Nyx can't kill those herself, they have to much fur.

Too much can cause loose stools. I give 1/2 tsp about every third day.

Now by "about that" what I mean is I give them all about 1/4 teaspoon each morning, not each of them. It all goes into one bowl and they 'share' it. I know some mornings one will get more and the next morning another will get more. It evens itself out.
I would like to keep the route of every morning or I will start to forget to give it to them. I have to keep a route or things get missed.
If I cut down the dose but still gave it to them daily would that be ok? I don't find that they have terribly loose stools now. They are soft but they hold together.
I had been worried about Hades as he had been making puddles for a week before our trip to Vancouver and the island in August. Heather and yourself had suggested that he might be developing an allergy to the chicken but he is all better now. He has taken a little beef during beef meals and more during beef/chicken meals but he still holding back on those ones so I am going to work on him more.

Okay! I thought you meant 1/4 for EACH, ;D They should actually be fine with that

Sorry I realized what it sounded like after I had already posted and you had responded.
I just give them a little a day as not to over do it but still have my route. Some mornings when I am unable to feed them the the boyfriend does it he doesn't always remember the oil.
When I plan a pumpkin treat snack (1 bowl per ferret containing 1 tablespoon pumpkin, 1/4 teaspoon Salmon Oil and 1/4 teaspoon Olive Oil and a few drops hot water) I skip the Salmon Oil in the food for a few days before.

Wow! They must have HUGE stools following that ;D I'm assuming it's no more than a weekly treat? Won't hurt them, but I'm just thinking about the difference in the stools!

Currently they get the pumpkin treat one to twice a month. The get just pumpkin if they seem to have a blockage. The poops aren't a lot larger they are just more frequent and of course oranger. lol
I do this routine to help prevent blockages as I have two bedding/fabric chewers.

I have been thinking of adding the pumpkin to a meal each day but I worry about over doing that stuff, specially because they all get served a single bowl of food to share. I've never had any problems with feeding them together so I never separate them. But if I added pumpkin to a meal then there is no way to make sure that one doesn't eat it all and they all love the pumpkin so I wouldn't be surprised if someone did that.

I mix mine with a mush meal (organs and meats) That way I know everyone is eating what I expect them to. ciao

I've done that before because I figured it should be prefect. I watched Hades eat a meal for three, bugger wouldn't stop. Luckily I had only put about 1 and a half tablespoons in that batch.
