Why is kibble recommended instead of a high quality canned food? I guess because most of us simply don't even think of it!

Yes its the aus ju I mentiond but again no bone so just good as a soup base or treat.

But kibble doesn't have bone either. I'm sure most canned cat foods have some kind of calcium added to replace the bone requirements.

They do. If not you'll find "not a complete diet" or "for supplemental feedings only" on the label.
