I use Advantage for kittens. 1 drop per each pound of weight. Put it between the shoulder blades. it works very well. Stay away from essential oils. Including peppermint, tea tree oil. Wash all bedding in hot water with white vinegar and water.

This thread is from a month ago, but I do have something to add. For fleas you can use advantage kitten, but I use revolution cat 5-15 lbs. I chose this product after reading published articles. The company has come out saying that if you want heartworm preventative for your ferrets, the revolution 5-15 lb cat dose has been proven effective. And to my knowledge it is the only one. Noah and I go hiking a lot and although the prevalence of mosquitoes with heartworm in New England isn't great, a single worm is enough to kill a ferret. It's also labeled for ear mites. Noah had ear mites when I found him, and after being properly treated, he hasn't gotten anymore. Just a useful but of info I thought I'd share.
