Only ramp I use is the one between the levels. Otherwise I just set the shelf in the lowest setting and they climb up/jump off it, no problem.

They only have a minor problem when jumping down to the bottom pan which is plastic and not lined for cleaning purposes. It's little slippery despite it being textured. The Marshall Mansion XL, which is apparently what I have, only has one choice for the height of the shelves or for what side you can hang them on. No rearranging, which is why these shelves/PVC things interest me. I'd like to be able to change stuff around to spice things up for them.

I really like your design for the hammocks using PVC!

Yeah, I was considering them as well. Even talked with the person who makes these about them and how easy they might be to clean. I decided against it. I know this is an old thread. The gal that made them (http://ferretaffair.com/) is no longer doing so due to health concerns, but I ended up making one myself. I sewed up a pocket one and my fuzzies love it. No poops, no stashing (Kimble saves that honor for the carpet under my bed.) ew. I found maggots there a couple of weeks ago. puke(shudder) I almost wish he had used the fuzzy floor because I could at least throw it in the washer. I made my fuzzy floor entirely out of fleece with tabs on three sides and a rod pocket on the fourth one. I'm having trouble getting the tension rod to stay where I want it on the door side...still have to figure that out. The tabs were a PITA to sew and for what she charged, if she ever opens up again, I'd pay someone else to do it. The floor does wash up well, however. Even the cats have figured out how it works.

Wow kraesmom that is really awesome! I was looking at her site and like the whole idea of them. It gives another level to the cages and a nice hiddy hole. Good job, thanks for sharing!

In the winter, they sleep inside of it. In the summer, they lounge on top of it. I am planning to make a summer version that is cotton sheeting lined in flannel because it'd be cooler than the fleece. It would also match the new tie dyed cotton sheeting/minky bedding I just made. It didn't take them long at all to figure out how to go through the bottom hole on one end and the top hole on the other end. It doesn't even inhibit their use of the litter box (or the "itchy shelf"...they have one place they all three seem to go when they feel itchy. weird).
