How are their stools? What is the consistency of the soups?

Weezy: Normal form Shock: Diarrhea, sometimes formed.
Soups are still smoothie thick, but are watered down just a bit. Shock doesn't care for watery, tried it for a couple of days to see if he would take...not to much. I don't think Weezy minds all that much.

Ok so try to make the soup a little thicker this time.
Are you still using The DDG + Epigen for the soup? What's the ratio?

Shock is back to eating on his own again. His b/g has gone up within the last couple of days. Tonight's reading was at 58.
I'm not good with math but I'll guesstimate the best I can. Epigen is around 1 cup or so, 1 duck patty, a couple teaspoons of chicken baby food, about a cup and a half of water. Since it forms like a thick paste during the night, I take a couple of good teaspoons full of soup and add some water to it in a small dish until it turns into a soupy form.

Shock is back to eating on his own again. His b/g has gone up within the last couple of days. Tonight's reading was at 58. Oh that is SO good! That is a huge improvement *YAY* I'm not good with math but I'll guesstimate the best I can. Awesome. So both are eating the Epigen dry? Have you considered adding in another freeze dried protein? I know S&C makes lamb, chicken, and beef. Do you eventually want to add any whole meats into their diet?

He dropped majorly this morning 29. Yes I have considered getting lamb, beef etc for them to try so they have some variation. This week I'll be ordering another bag for them to try. As for raw I have considered adding some to their soups since I've been looking into it. Weezy eats it by itself and again Shock is hard to catch when eating kibble. I have one bowl filled with Eipgen and the other bowl is mixed. He seems to like the Epigen but I haven't caught him enough to tell if he actually likes it or not.

He dropped majorly this morning 29. Oh I'm so sorry. Did he crash? I'm wondering if your BG meter is running low - a ferret with a BG that low normally seizes. Yes I have considered getting lamb, beef etc for them to try so they have some variation. This week I'll be ordering another bag for them to try. Adding in some other proteins is necessary for a balanced diet. It will also add some spice into their diet and help keep them interested. As for raw I have considered adding some to their soups since I've been looking into it. If you do want to, adding in chicken is usually the easiest. It's very bland and easy to accept. Plus, it's cheap!

I have some bad news.... Shock passed away sometime last night. He started to have seizures. After the one, they must have kept going. But I'm going to continue to work with Weezy.....

Oh no. I am so sorry for your loss. I know you did everything you could to help him. How is Weezy taking it? Some rescue remedy would come in handy at this point.

Thank you. Weezy doesn't seem to be affected, but she went through it once before with her brother Diego who was euthanized. Currently she is up and getting into stuff she's not supposed to. But she needs to have an extra close watch on her because she has NEVER been a single ferret. Even when she was born. I got her and Diego as a pair from the pet shop in 2009 when they were still tiny kits. Diego had all kinds of problems which was never pin pointed to what caused him to be so sick. I think genetics had a HUGE part in that. Diego had hip dysplasia and the vet had told me it would get to the point where he wouldn't be able to move. After she had told me that I started to look into ferret shelter thus coming across Shock.
A sad thing is exactly one yr ago today I had adopted him from the ferret rescue.
I've looking into the rescue remedy, and I was going to order some and I couldn't figure out how. This was a couple of months ago.

So far yes, she had her favorite treat this morning n bones. She still is her rambunctious self. Every now and again she'll look for Shock in the places he hung out the most, to check on him and make sure he's ok. I'll make her a bowl of soup to see if she wants any.

So far so good with everything. Did not get a chance to make a new batch of soup been having problems with getting the blender to work and someone misplaced the attachments. Will make a batch tomorrow since I'm off. Weezy is still active no change other than looking sad. She may get a playmate sooner than expected.
