Thanks for more suggestions We have quite a few boxes and pop boxes for them to crawl through and we switch them out every month or two. We have one of those ferretrail tunnels, which they used to love but honestly, it was because Booth always ran through it with them chasing him. Now nobody goes in it :/ Same with the carriers. They used to love going in there to chase Booth in, who would then roll around with his mouth open to keep them out, but now they won't go near it. Some of the toys they used to love just sit on the floor, even when I tease them with it. The teaser wand toy we have was also Booth's favorite, which now they rarely attack. They much prefer socks now. I don't know. I'm at a loss on how to get them more active again. Booth was the initiator. I try to now, and on occasion they get pretty hyped up and dooking, but it's been a very slow transition. Oh, we also have a cat condo which nobody goes within 5 feet of. That was were Booth went to 'rule' . He would lay in the top and bat at anyone going in the bottom one. Should we consider getting rid of everything of Booth's and buying brand new toys?

Have you tried some rescue remedy at all? Maybe they are still depressed and grieving over Booth.

They are still grieving. It takes a while. If you can, just remove some of the stuff, store it, and replace it with new so you can rotate. They are also going to need a lot of interaction with you to teach them how to get hyped up again.

My girls go into an absolutely crazy hunter mode whenever I bring out the play and squeak danglemouse wand: www.playnsqueak.com/products_hanging.htmlI learned how destructive Ferrets are with toys shortly after getting one of the play and squeak regular mice. This was shortly after I got my ferrets. Sneakers (DIP) when running by and I heard the squeak, squeak of the motion sensitive mouse but she didn't have the mouse in her mouth. She had acutally ripped the electrontics out of the mouse and was carrying them off to finish chewing on them. I'm lucky I caught her with it. Now Play and Squeak products are supervision only.

I will start them on RR again. Should do it anyway for the move since they will be up for almost 36 hours I'll attempt some more dollar store toys for now, then in about a month I can go crazy with new toys and new hammocks, etc. Especially excited for that since Booth was the only one who chewed on their bedding. Now I can deck out their cage like mad The playnsqueak toys looks interesting. We will give them more thought when we can buy some good and new toys. Thanks everyone. It's been such a crazy and hard month!

In the interim why not just switch out cardboard boxes and put some clothes, etc in them? You should have a good number of those if you're moving! Give them one with some clothes, switch it out in a day or two for another with packing paper, etc? Brand new toy in a different spot every day or two should help perk them up a bit

That way, they don't have time to ruin the boxes either ;D

Sherry - that's brilliant! I'm definitely going to do that!
Fill it up with some of the clothes I need to wash anyway, then some packing paper since we don't really need anymore now. ^^ Awesome idea!

I got Alfie a remote control car a bit ago and he loves it! It works out well for both of us--he gets to play and I get to play with him without risking the loss of a finger. It's super funny to watch him try to get the car through his tunnel; he tries to put the car in first, but it gets caught on the opening of the tunnel and he ends up chasing the hole around with a car in his mouth. I die every time!
I got a car that was meant for little kids, so it doesn't have any small pieces; however, it also doesn't steer. I'm not sure why little kids don't get to steer their cars. Hmm...

I can't say enough positives about the play and squeeks or the petlinks toys. Loki is an only ferret so all of his play time is human centered unless those toys come out. momma gets to do the dishes without a weasel in the dishwasher. ~Kelli
