Ok, so I was talking to the Bells Ferry vet I mentioned earlier ab Lupron as a preventative for adrenal. She told me they recommend 2 shots yearly as a preventative. Well they charge an UNGODLY amount for Lupron. So I was thinking, if any of my babies do get adrenal I could NEVER afford Lupron as a treatment. She told me that I would be charged a $55 exam fee/ferret in addition to $203.96 PER SHOT, per ferret!! I mean if you are using Lupron as a treatment (as opposed to a preventative) how often is it needed? Can you please tell me what you pay per shot? Preferably US people bc I have no idea what the conversion is.

That's for the 4 month implant I assume? I do monthly which is $30 per shot and give it myself. Never used the longer implants so no idea what they would cost although I could ask when I order more.

That is still a good bit more than you pay bc 4 months at $30/month is $120. But Idk she didn't specify how long it was for....I sure hope longer than a month!

Jack is scheduled for some follow-up xrays next weekend. I'll ask my vet what her office charges, unless this is something you need to know right now.

I was wondering this too. I've heard most people its $30-$50/monthly shot. I don't know anything about the implants or anything, so I have no idea on prices.

Idk, that place is SOOO over priced... I have called several places since just to speak with some vets and everyone elses prices were a lot lower. Well so far 5 out of 6 ferret specialist vets I have talked to do not recommend using an adrenal preventative... so I guess I will just be waiting and seeing.
