Kenai woke me up this morning puking. He threw up quite a bit. He was makin crying noises like a Lamb it made me so sad! I gave him a big dollop of Vaseline, and some Rescue Remedy both orally and on his ear. I separated him on the top level of the FN and gave him a newspaper litter box, and warm freeze dried soupies. I have to say, having a bag or two of freeze dried on hand at all times is Such a lifesaver! I didn't hVe anything else to make soup with as all of the meat is frozen. He keeps getting in and ot of the litter box but doesn't seem to actually be making any effort to poop. He gets in place then seems to forget why he is there and gets back out to itch himself. I am REALLY hoping it is a hairball! I mean with all of that fur and whatnot.... I have not seen any straining to potty, or any potting for that matter and no face scratching. So that is good I think.... I have to go to work soon and there's just not much else I can do but wait and watch. So much for that thing called sleep. What is it again? I haven't had any in quite a while and I can't seem to remember what it is like...... .

Oh Katt, I'm so sorry Kenai is sick. Could he have eaten too fast this morning? I'll be praying him to be getting better. Fingers crossed it's not a blockage.

I don't know. I was asleep before, so I don't know if he was eating or not. He did poop before I left for work, but it was black and slimy. However, I fed them chicken hearts last night so that explains the color/texture.

Heart-colored? Kind of pinkish like pale heart meat. One looked like it might have some hair in it, so hairballs is still a possibility. *crosses fingers* I had to get ready for work though, so I didn't investigate too closely. I was more focused on finding my Vaseline and getting him set up in his own section of the FN for the day. Then he dumped the water bowl I gave him. Since throwing up=dehydration he HAS to have water... so then i had to search around the entire kitchen for a bigger, heavier dish to use. I finally settled on a heavy glass half-size cake pan. Little brat!

and It DID look like partially digested meat color, not pink as in blood. Just to be clear.

Sorry for the late update. I worked late, and then spent all night banging my head into my computer screen and fighting the desire to theow my computer in the toilet, followed by a ferret named Koda. haha Good news is. no more throw up when I came home, and no sign of gagging. He just wanted me to loose sleep maybe? The bad news is, he had several poops (well that is goo) but they were all very seedy and strange. He ate some freeze dried, did not touch freeze dried soup. That stuff stink I can't say I blame him. He seems to be doing fine now. Thankfully. I will continue to keep an eye on him though. I will probably start feeding him some extra pumpkin too. Oh yes, and I think his bum is itchy. It doesn't seem red or swollen, could this just be a result of the bad poops?

It could quite easily be the result of the bad poops. And the bad poops could quite easily be the result of the stress of throwing up.

Glad to hear it was an isolated incident. I hope baby Kenai feels better!
