I have a 6 year old ferret with adrenal disease, insolinoma, IBD, compromised lungs, lymphoma and the beginning of kidney failure. He is on monthly lupron injections, gets melatonin implants every 3-4 months and gets prednisone, diazoxide and metronydazole for IBD. I just heard about Essicac helping ferrets with cancer. Can I use this on my ferret or does he have too many issues to chance it??? I called the phone number on the bottle for this product distributed by Natural Energy Plus, inc in AZ and she said to use 1/2 tsp mixed with 1/2 tsp water 2 times a day on a empty stomach (BooBoo is 4 pounds). Should I use this or return it? Thank you in advance for any help. Eleanor

I'll shoot Jennifer(mustelidmusk) a message. She'd be more able to help with that than I would.

Definitely get a second opinion from Jennifer. I'd heard that you have to be very careful as it does strange things to their blood sugar. I believe you can still use it but you have to be aware. I would definitely wait until Sherry gets back with the info ciao

Since you seem to be very knowledgeable about your ferrets illnesses, and will likely know what to watch for, I'd say you can definitely try it, and just to keep an eye out and any alarming symptoms that happen, talk to your vet. My vet and I discussed Essiac Tea for my late ferret, Rascal, but it was too late and he was euthanized before I could move forward with it.
