So I was considering becoming a foster home for the Alberta Ferret Society. I should be having my phone interview soon, then it will be a home inspection.
The only issue is that I have to ferret proof, since I know how strict they are, so I'm considering just getting baby gates and keeping the living room the ferret room.
Also, how do I keep Vixen from eating the kibble the foster ferret will be eating?

We went through that when we fostered for FRES as well. All I did was keep all food in the cage(they had separate cages). Unless the foster is insulinomic, being without access to the kibbles for periods of time won't be a problem. We were also allowed to supplement with raw soups, by the way And the home inspection, while checking for ferret proofing, will also point out any areas missing, so you can fix it. They won't deny you because of that, only if for whatever reason it CAN'T be fixed or blocked off.

I actually adopted from them years ago when raisins were still ok treats. Unfortunately they big boy took a chunk out of my dogs ear. So he went back to his foster home. I didn't feel bad though, since they had said that they would adopt him if he came back

I think that's a wonderful thing for you to do! Good luck on your home inspection. I have in the past fostered for our local Great Dane rescue but when I had to go back to work I had to stop. Luckily shortly after my foster at the time Dewey went to his new foster home, (he was deaf and partially blind and had been with us about a year) she was adopted by a furever home and is doing great! At one time (while prego with my daughter) I had my three dogs (2 pits and 1 chihuahua) my sisters pit, 3 4 month old dane merle pups and Dewey...8 dogs and 4 of them Danes! It was chaos but I loved it and I'm still in touch with a couple of the adopters to see how my babes are doing. My biggest fear of fostering was falling in love and not being able to give them up to their new fureverhome...wanting to adopt them all....

I still have not gotten a phone call SO I'm e mailing to see whats going on. I've decided I'm buying an FN and also getting a second ferret, but I will still foster one...if my roomate agrees. I do wish they get back sooner though.

There is a single story for sale for $150 but I'm not sure if I should bother, or just get a new two story.

It depends on the condition, if you can add another level, and how much a new one costs.

The big problem here is trying to GET the 143 level. I've not found one store that carries them, nor will they order them in for you
