Woah! It looks like one of those tiny back teeth. Let's see what Heather and Sherry have to say; I wouldn't quite know, but it looks like a tooth!

I've not seen the teeth when our fuzz lost them, but that one certainly looks like a tiny back tooth. I don't know if 8-9 months old is too old for back teeth to be coming in or not

That's so awesome! I want one! Anyway, I found this information. Not sure about it's accuracy, but seems pretty valid. Ferrets have 30 baby and 34 adult teeth. All baby teeth should be in by 3 months and lost by 9 months of age. www.veterinarypartner.com/Content.plx?P=A&A=140&S=5

that's cool!!! my first instinct was that it was a peice of bone that got caught... I've had it happen to Sophie Ann a couple times, but then again maybe it was a tooth?!?!? I have no idea how old she is and I avoid her mouth at all costs!

It does indeed look like a baby molar, perhaps Joan or Marie could offer some assist to this. I've only had one furbaby and that was Napoleon. It certainly looks similar to a back molar that he had pulled about a year ago (this one is much smaller). I would have thought that they would have all been out by now, but...that doesn't stop it from one that perhaps the adult molar came up beside instead of underneath....and it finally giving way . I know that this happens with dogs, why not ferrets ciao

You know Sherry if you want you can add these pics to the aging your ferret by teeth thread. Or I can if you want. Just so people can see a baby tooth.
