Hey there everyone! I was just wondering if there are any breeders in Washington state? I'm not looking to get a baby anytime soon; I personally prefer rescuing older animals because I feel they are who truly need homes, babies get picked up in a wink. However, my fiance and I have mentioned purchasing kits, but we both detest buying from places such as petco (we both feel that so many ferrets need homes because of the availability @ such establishments. People see them at Petco and buy them because they're cute, then when they realize they bit off more than they could chew they just get rid of them). So, basically, I'm just curious! If we were to want to buy kits, are there breeders in WA or in the Pacific North West?? Thanks Much! -Genea

Yes there IS a breeder in Washington, a good one! I bought a ferret from her, my boy Finn, and he's wonderful Her name is Nancy Park, here is her website with all the info on how to contact her, pictures of the babies she has available, etc: www.ferrettownusa.com/index.htmlYou're lucky, I live in Arizona so I had to have my ferret flown to me on an airplane, you could probably just DRIVE to her house and pick out a baby! So jealous lol... Now, she does have requirements about who she will sell to. If you ever decide you want a breeder kit, you should email her, see if her ferrets would be right for you Breeder ferrets aren't for everyone, they tend to have more energy, get into more trouble, etc. But she can explain all that to you! You might want to email her just to get some information, even if you don't want a kit right now. You can also PM me if you have any questions. If you want to see some pics of my hob Finn I got from her, there are a bunch in this thread: holisticferret60.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=fuzz&action=display&thread=5490&page=4

Thanks so much for responding! I've read all about your Finn! Lol. I'm always reading everyone's posts, I'm just not much of a commenter. Now that you've mentioned that they're different I am certainly going to shoot them an e-mail and ask about it. For now I'm very happy with my little boy, and soon we'll be welcoming another furbaby into our pack, hopefully one around his age (4 yrs). Thanks again for passing along that information to me!!!
