Mom decided on chunks. Because really right now I am just putting them on a plate and putting it in the cage with them around it and they eat it. So I am going to bag up individual meals for a week. Hopefully I'll be out Sat or Sun.
So here's what's on the menu...
Tues PM: 1/2 oz liver per ferret & 1/2 oz heart per ferret [they had some CGH chunks & bone-in earlier tonight]
Weds AM: chicken wings, 1/2 oz liver per ferret Weds PM: CGH & chicken chunks
Thurs AM: smashed bone-in (duck, chicken, CGH) Thurs PM: CGH chunks & unsmashed bone-in
Fri AM: heart (1/2 oz per ferret) Fri PM: smashed bone-in (duck, chicken, CGH)
Sat AM: beef lung (1/2 oz per ferret) & chicken chunks Sat PM: chicken wings
Sun AM: CGH & chicken chunks Sun PM: smashed bone-in (duck, chicken, CGH)
Mon AM: beef lung & liver Mon PM: chicken chunks
Tues AM: chicken wings Tues PM: chicken chunks
That look ok? I know there's no pork but I haven't gotten to the store and don't think I will before I go to the hospital tomorrow.
I just served the liver & heart...slapped it all on a plate. freya is less than pleased and ran off after eating (i think) the piece i stuffed in her mouth but the other two are going to town on it.
Well...the boys ate all the liver and left the heart ;D Freya ate neither.

Okay, with no CR in the diet, the organ(liver/lung) has to be increased to 2oz a week per ferret. Not essential for this week, but for future reference For now, that menu will work We can refine it when you get back

Yeah I realize that Just wasnt gonna work this week lol. I plan on feeding a few CR meals per week but mom didnt want to deal w/that. BTW is it ok if I let her post on here if she has questions...she asked if she could, i was gonna leave her directions Im gonna put a little CR in with the hearts for heart-only meals...they dont seem to want to eat their heart little brats

Definitely! And not to worry about them having less for one week It takes several months for dietary insufficiencies to show up

I'm going to leave this thread open on my laptop so all she has to do is open my laptop and type in the quick reply box. im also leaving another tab open with the page to post a new thread in the medical section, so if theres a medical concern she can post there and get more responses. Since you're west and I'm east there's a time overlap there ;D

I'm leaving the heart in the cage overnight to see if they'll eat it. They've eaten quite a bit today. I didn't have the foresight to measure it out but I'm guessing between the 3 of them they ate 4oz? CGH chunks, CGH bone-in, and liver (no heart yet...they ate around it ;D )

So apparently they like their heart ferret-style....after sitting out overnight Freya and Marley ate most of that. Soxx ate a little bit. I just served them some chicken chunks and CGH bone. I'm gonna have to start feeding them more in one sitting because two of them polished it off ;D I had put out probably at least 2 oz~! Their appetites have picked back up..again! Oy vey! Energy levels seem higher too which is nice for me to watch. Soxx was wardancing at/with ME this morning

You'll likely just have to increase what you've put in the cage Well, looks like they are off to the races! Have your mom keep feeding what you've been, and when you get back, we'll start introducing more proteins, then we can get you graduated! You're almost there

So I'm back!! Mom reports that the kids did not eat much the first few days I was gone. Then they ate like crazy for a few days. yesterday they didn't eat much, but tonight when I fed them they ate it all. Second helpings will be coming later Considering they are only eating what I bagged/marked for Sunday, they really must have skipped a few meals I will have to weigh them tomorrow...Marley looks like he lost a bit of weight poor bugger. Gonna have to plump em back up again ;D

Sounds good! Let me know exactly where they are at food wise now that they are eating well for you again. If we have to step back, we will.
