Well nobody finished any pieces -- Soxx is still working on one, Marley stashed another -- but they all gnawed on them for a few minutes. It's a start!! Im still excited and proud lol A picture to commemorate.. I figure I'll leave 2-3 of the little pieces in the cage overnight...minimize waste. And hopefully they'll prove me wrong but I doubt the pieces will disappear by morning ;D

Well Soxx finished his piece except for a small piece of bone...so who knows what morning may bring!! I actually might be excited to get out of bed in the morning (for a change lol) to find out! ;D
(AND my mom didn't flip about me using our dinner plates for the ferrets...she said she preferred it to all the bowls in the sink lolololol...I didn't think whne I prepped their morning food I put them in separate bowls. Maybe I should just stick it all on one plate from now on regardless? How do you do it when you do your CR...individual bowls or free-for-all? How do you make sure that everyone gets some?)

All one dish- and believe me, they all get their share ;D Some eat afterwards, though. If one eats less one meal, they'll simply eat more the next to make up for it ; 0

Ok! I will make that change starting tonight! And OMG Color me "Surprised"! Woke up this morning...empty plate!! Tore the cage apart convinced they'd stashed it..well I haven't checked *all* their beds yet but the tube was empty, octopus was empty, water bowl empty except for water, etc. Somebody nommed down and ate their segments This morning brought larger pieces of meat and bone-in that is unsmashed, complete with a bit of pumpkin. Marley ate his meat, licked his bone-in and might have eaten a piece of that, I'm not sure. Soxx ate his meat, and made a tidy pile of bone-in next to his bowl. Freya refused to eat off the spoon so I hand-fed her a piece of meat by rather stuffing it in her mouth. Drama queen the proceeded to eat all of her food except for 2 bone-in pieces. I'll leave leftovers on a plate in the cage! They're all chasing each other in their super-thru-way tube...even Soxx who refused to go in there at first...he is war dancing and I love it

Sounds like they've turned a corner! For now, keep feeding them bone in pieces, smashing the bone if you need to. Do that for the next 4 meals. Hopefully they'll be all eating the bone by then. I had to feed my guys smashed up chicken wings for 3 days straight before they all got with the program Sometimes you've got to do "tough love" ;D

Well they ate about half of what I left in the cage. Some bone-in, some not. Although I still have to check for stashed pieces Actually Marley's investigating the plate right now, I can hear him crunching. Yummm Ok...so heres the plan for the next few days. Since they did OK with the non-smashed chicken wings and the non-smashed bone this AM I am gonna try to keep feeding them that...although I have quite a bit of smashed bone-in frozen in the freezer....maybe I should feed that first? Or should I do a mix of the two -- I'm sure they'll eat the smashed first but I can leave un-smashed in the cage afterwards for snacking? Should I be giving them meat chunks as well as the bone-in? I need to get to the store to buy some chicken wings... Monday AM -- bone-in (unsmashed) and CGH chunks Monday PM -- chicken wings, take 2 Tuesday AM -- bone-in Tuesday PM -- bone-in Update...they are actually now ALL crunching away. Feeding from one plate is (so far!) turning out much easier than anticipated..for once ;D Even Soxx is holding his own.

Great news! As for smashed up or not- alternate it until it's gone. For now, plan on the 8-9 bone meals in a week, the 3-4 muscle meals and the liver/organ meal with what you have. If you want, include some CR as a couple of the bone in meals, or you can use it as a soup meal once a week. It's a good idea to keep them used to soup for when they get sick and don't want to eat their normal food.

I suppose I will know tomorrow night around 5pm my time. If I go I am going to have my mom give them CR, hopefully she will be OK with that and not go back to kibbles >_< 2tbsp per meal, fed 2x/day, would suffice am i correct?

OH tonight's supper is going over well! Leftover CGH wing segments plus some meaty bone-in pieces (unsmashed). I had to stuff a piece into Freya's mouth to get her started but all three crunched away. They've been gonig back intermittently and eating more. Mom picked up a bunch of chicken wings for me at the store How often a week can they have wings?

Okay, first leave the CR out of the mix other than specific meals. Makes it easier on this poor old woman's brain ;D And instead if tbsp I think you can likely start measuring in ounces because they seem like they are eating more Right now, alternate the wings with the CGH and the CR as meals and see how they do. For chunks, try a wee bit of the pork again and see how they tolerate it.

No more tbsp measures But 2 tbsp = 1 oz, correct, so I can still measure it out that way, just report it in oz...right? They hadn't had pork before, it was lamb/goat, but I'll try to get to the store to pick some up. Here...let me re enter the menu, subtracting what they already ate. That whole, 1tbsp this/1tbsp that was from earlier in the week, what I'd already fed them. I've tossed that method out the window ;D Tues AM: CGH - meat chunks Tues PM: ½ oz liver w/chicken chunks Weds AM: chicken wings Weds PM: CR turkey with ½ oz liver. * If finished quickly, will offer CGH meat chunks Thurs AM: CGH - bone-in, unsmashed w/ ½ oz heart Thurs PM: ½ oz heart, ½ oz beef lung Fri AM: Chicken chunks w/smashed bone-in Fri PM: ½ oz liver, ½ oz beef lung I will have to write a new Sat/Sun.

If you need to, have her just feed the CR. They'll be fine with that And good luck!
