sounds to me like they want to get back all the money they have put into them. around here paying full price for two ferrets --seen at $249 each = $500 plus cost of cage.. 3 level could be about 150-200 ( a fn would be double new) Still unreasonable. I saw one listed for $1000!! I'm sure he still has them ! lol

Yea I get really annoyed when I see the rehoming prices on craigslist. 100-200 per ferret??? Having to pay alot for the ferret doesn't mean it will get a good home. People don't realize that whoever takes the ferret from a bad owner like them will likely have ALOT of expenses and work getting the ferret healthy again. Shame, shame.

Well, I also hate when they give animals away for free. That makes me worry about the home theyre going to and the home they were in. Lol I saw two sugar gliders for sale on CL for $500!

Ya crazy prices! regular at pet stores is about 249. We talked the guy down to 150$ for Neka cause he'd been there so long and wasn't a 'little' baby (at almost 3lb 6 month old lol) that would bring in the higher price, the next week they had a 'baby' there all of 1 lb listed for 249$ Ones i've seen in Toronto were about the same price.

Went into the Pet Plus a couple of days ago. Cute big boys. There "babies" are 149.00 each. But they are far from babies. Most stores here are 109.00. On another point I HAVE to say do the stores think we are dumb, How to charge 10.99 for yesterdays news for ferrets but cats are 6.99? DUH.

I bought my first 3 in reno nv over a period of a year / year and a half and have never paid more than 100$.
Recently there was a nasty mister buying fuzz in reno and then reselling them on CL in sacramento for 250-300 ea. And since ferrets are illegal here we cam flag them. It took this guy a long time to sell them with us and our flag campaign lol.
I also flag anyone that appears to be trying to make money on their unwanted ferrets.

the petsmarts don't sell ferrets anymore, only the small pet stores around here, and they're kept in glass 'cages' and are around 300 with tax.
