Okay, things are still hectic here, but I'm not in danger of losing my apartment now (Student Loans are still not here though... ) So I am back on here and I'll give a quick update. Penne had about ten days of various pork products with crushed eggshell. This week she is back on poultry with beef liver soupie. I have to find another heart. 2. Ferret's weight: 1lb 12oz 3. Ferret has eaten "X" amount on average per meal. One drumstick serves two meals with chopped or pureed liver. When I was feeding her pork I was giving her half a pork chop with powdered eggshell stuffed into slices within the meat. She is also eating pinkie mice now. 4. Stools on various proteins. Firm and relatively odourless. 5. Activity levels: Penelope has been exercised by running and playing in the hallway and stairwells. I have also been taking her outside for evening walks! By the end of the activity she is happily tuckered out 6. Weekly menu: Last Week: Pork chops stuffed with crushed eggshells. This Week: Chicken drumsticks supplemented with beef liver soupie and pinkies. *She'll eat a good portion of the bone too.* Things are definitly changing around here, more activity, out of cage time. Walks. I have a new cage coming. I still have to find my SD card or borrow my boyfriends camera to take pictures.

Penne had about ten days of various pork products with crushed eggshell. This week she is back on poultry with beef liver soupie. I have to find another heart. What was the consistency of the pork? Soup, small chunks, large chunks? 3. Ferret has eaten "X" amount on average per meal. One drumstick serves two meals with chopped or pureed liver. When I was feeding her pork I was giving her half a pork chop with powdered eggshell stuffed into slices within the meat. She is also eating pinkie mice now. That's great about the pinkies! Does she eat them whole, or are you chopping them up? Last Week: Pork chops stuffed with crushed eggshells. This Week: Chicken drumsticks supplemented with beef liver soupie and pinkies. *She'll eat a good portion of the bone too.* How are you feeding the drumstick? Crushed, chopped, whole?

The pork chop was 1/2 chop. One whole chunk with open slices.
She eats the pinkies whole, brained for scenting.
Drumstick is whole. Penelope will chew straight through bone nubs, leaving maybe an inch of bone untouched.

I wish! We're having a disagreement about fur... I am thinking of adding fuzzies and hoppers to the next batch of soupie. I had her out for a walk to pick up mail at my old apartment yesterday and I guess she really dislikes the cold because she crawled up my pants and into my hoody. She spent the walk back as a neck warmer because she'd rather be perched on my shoulders.

The fur is often the biggest speed bump when it comes to whole prey. Maybe try slicing the mouse open and putting some soup/oil inside? Or maybe chopping it up and putting it in her soup. Aw, poor baby! It doesn't get very cold here, so my kids LOVE the weather now. We got a low of about 40 F (4 C?) earlier this week, and the fuzz really enjoyed it She sounds like an absolute doll

Haha, don't worry about farenheit for me, I've pretty much learned it after keeping snakes. Last night Penne had one ounce of liver, tonight its another drumstick.

Today though I went to the asian market and picked up gizzards, chicken hearts and turkey necks. I am hoping to get pig tongue and chicken feet there next time.

Aw she is so sweet looking She has such a cute little mask! (My Trixie is a similar color but rarely gets a mask in - the pic in my siggy is one of the few). That's great! Let me know how the new foods go. When you tried the mouse, did you offer it whole, chopped, etc?

Okay, trying to upload tonight's menu... Gizzards, chicken hearts and liver. The mouse I gave her was partially skinned and drizzled in liver. I am thinking something may be off with the mice though, cause several of my snakes have refused adults fromthe same batch Tomorrow we try half a turkey neck.

Looks appetizing ;D (not!). Good luck with the turkey neck! I usually smash mine pretty good because they are really thick (I also have a set of lazy, spoiled girls ).

2. Ferret's weight:
3. Ferret has eaten "X" amount on average per meal. One third of a bone in turkey neck with chicken hearts and gizzards and beef liver.
4. Stools on various proteins. Firm, but I have no pumpkin so they tend to be shiny.
5. Activity levels: If I am home Penne has run of the house now after using the litterbox. She'll bounce around the house and find somewhere to sleep. Last night I went to bed and left her cage open, she wandered in around 7 am.
6. Weekly menu:
Monday to Friday- Turkey neck chopped into thirds. One third per meal with chicken hearts, gizzards and beef liver as a side. Sometimes combined, but mostly one at a time. One plate serves an entire day for meals so I don't have to worry when I come home tired from class.

OKay, so it sounds like she's eating bone fine. Can you list all the proteins and organ meats she eats willingly, and we can get a formal menu together and get you graduated!

Hi, Jackie's been busy, so I'm going to assist for a couple of days Could you write up a menu on what they are eating when? That way, we can "tweak" it where it needs it
