While I was out thrift store shopping today, I found something that MAY work as a feeding den. I'm just a little concerned about the size. It's about 5 inches high, by 10 inches wide and 14 inches long. It would be used for two ferrets. It seems like they would like their feeding den to be a snug, easily protected place, but is that too small? I'm planning on putting in showerhooks too, for hanging the meat from. If it is too small I'll cut out part of one side and it can be a litterbox instead.

For ferrets, size does not matter. The ferrets will decide if they like it or not. My fuzz prefer small spaces, some prefer larger. Only way to know would be to test it out unfortunately.

Some prefer a space they can get their entire body into, others are just as happy with something they only poke their head into. It's trial and error, like with anything else with these guys ;D

Okay. Well, if it works for nothing else, at least I got it for like $2!

It's not so much the size or shape of the den as if it seems available or if they can locate it. Their eyesight is not their dominant sense organ.

I have an oval plastic igloo that comes apart for cleaning. They turned into a den, they all use it every now and then.

Forgot to mention lots of good feeding dens are free. Soda and beer boxes work great. So do brown paper grocery bags. I dont put food in dens but if they want to take food to one they can.
