That's brilliant!! ;D I may have to try the boat thing, and the bottle cap thing.. Winston used to love digging in water and making a mess.. until he rolled in the litter tray and had to have a bath.. Now he thinks water is for drinking only and hates getting wet

Today at Salvation Army I found something that should work...It's a fairly solid metal brownie pan with a bit of a ridge, 2-3 inches deep and about a foot by a foot and a half...so it's less of a swimming pool and more just for dabbling around in. It should work for now though! I thought the metal would be good because it's a little heavier.

It also doubles as an unmovable water bowl!

With everything I've read, I don't know if we should assume ANYTHING is unmoveable...

We are about to have a heat wave, so tomorrow is set-up-the-portable-ac time. But I am sooo going to set up the fun toy pool too. The last heat wave we had I had ceramic tiles in water in a low rubbermaid tub. Inside that was a big mixing bowl with cool water and some of the irresistable toys in it. I think that's when Artie really started to see the use of water for snorkeling. He doesn't like wading, but that may change this summer. In any case, I'll have to do something to keep him from snorkling in my drinking mugs. I love all the ideas here! Jennifer that kiddie pool setup rocks. It's a proper -ferrets can climb out- pool. There was a video awhile ago that showed someone putting their ferrets in their little pool. The part that tripped my trigger was that they had no way to get out by themselves and no real choice about getting in. They would do one lap looking for a way out and then realize the only way out was if their ferrent was going to lift them out. As soon as they did, the furkids made a beeline for the house door and waited on the porch. If I offend anyone here, just know that any animal or person that wants to play in water... will. If they don't want to, then their ______ probably shouldn't put them in a place where they can't escape from it. Rant done.

This is such a fun idea, both of mine are face swimmers and Dany is constantly dunking things in the water bowl. Her water bowl has a dual purpose- 1 is for storing water, the other is for storing things she doesn't want Ned to have. The problem being once they are at the bottom, nobody wants them and I have to fish them out

That video was one I saw on Youtube several months ago. I tried to get a comment on the video about it, but didn't have any luck. I wish the fuzzies would have been able to climb out on their own, it would've been a much more fun video with ferrets running into and out of the pool on their own. They didn't look afraid of the pool in the beginning of the video. It around the week when I was watching the Deathmetal ferrets vs. mice video. ;D
