The boys favorite thing is to go outside for a couple of hours. I take the playpen (2x midwest version) a bottle of water and them in their carrier to the park. I am working on getting them trained to harness and leash so we can go on walks outside of the pen. Teddy likes the trips so he endures the harness. Artie still abhores the harness, so I'm using Teddy's example to show him the rules. He's working on it. SLOWLY.

Same. Mali loves his harness when I put it on. He poofs all up because he knows it means outside time and scratches at the screen sliding door. Now we gotta train our new addition Cooper this year.

Took both Minion and Atreyu out to go for a wander. Minion hates the harness...I told him he needed a rabbit harness It's at it's largest spot....what does Finn wear?? He's bigger than Minion?!! Atreyu loves the harness and walks really well on it....he was promptly sick afterwards So, either it stressed him to be outside enjoying himself or he thought he was going to see his previous momma and got himself in a total funk when he discovered that he was just coming back here ciao

I tried to add a pic, but I guess it didn't take.
Poor Atreyu! They get all excited sometimes over the darnedest things. You could probably get Minion a small dog harness until he grows out of that. Then I'm thinking, a saddle would be good.
When Artie wants to go outside, he gets my attention and goes and sits in the carrier. He's not a real subtle ferret.

OMG! I just got walked (read run through a picnic bench) by Artie! The ongoing quest to get Artie to wear a harness continued this evening. First, Teddy and I took a nice meandering walk around, (Teddy is such a good fuzzy ) visited some people and went back after Artie gave me the saddest pair of little brown eyes-his ears were droopy too So, we (fert and I) put the harness on, clip the leash on and out of the playpen we go. It was nice and calm, but happy until I tried to stear him away from the trash can areas. He let me stear him back to less populated grassy areas and then started running. Then, this little squirt who'd never been on a leash before, decided to run under a picnic bench! He went one way, I went the other and had to intercept on the other side! FERTJERKY!!!! I'm glad he understands the purpose of the harness/leash, but I suspect the trips will be shorter for him and end in a squirmy trip back to the playpen. He's such a wease.

This time of year I would be concerned about temperatures at the beach. Fried fuzzy-not good.

I don't remember when the fuzz went to the beach, but it was rather cool (maybe low 70s) because it was night time (around 11:30). It would be way to hot during the day.

re whether it's allowed that would be local laws. When I went to Tas with my guys for my niece's 21st last year we went to the beach they live near. The beach had a specific part that was the dog beach (so animals allowed) and then further up (where I din't go but my mum and sister did) was regular beach and animals were not permitted

I live in Orlando and the beaches around here have restricted any dog activity to all beaches except one. I have read the rules about pets for the beaches here and they only speak of Dogs. I would assume bringing your ferret would be okay, the most they would do is say "You can not have your ferret here". Most of the time they probably wouldn't even notice a small little guy like a ferret- they are more worried about speeders, heavy drinking and parking in the roadway-- and usually only drive around to help broke down cars (bc they left there car running and the battery died) or pull stuck cars out the sand. The night-time security at our beaches here are about 2% active. Once in a blue moon would you ever see security on orlando-ish beaches.
