I picked her up this afternoon. She was back to being her normal if not slightly wilder self. Her x-ray came out clean, the vet said he thought she had a bout of gastrointestinal peritonitus...so she has baytril and prednisolone to take for a few days, if i can figure out how to get her to take it.. Ive given pills to dogs and cats..but she is a little stinker, so far i haven't been able to find a really good way to medicate her...more forum reading for me! Thanks for all your support everybody. That is fantastic that you've got her home. Pilling your fuzz shouldn't be any different than pilling your cat. I find that their response is very similar. I use a piller, I works very well ciao

So glad she's home, and doing better No advice with the pilling here, since all I've ever had to give a fuzz is liquid meds. Cats I do the same as the dogs- open the mouth, and pop the pill in ;D Don't think that would work with a fuzz, though. I have heard of some dissolving the pill in 1cc of water, and syringing it. But talk to the vet about that one first.

I always dissolved mine like Sherry said, put it in a syringe with some water and let it sit for a few minutes. I'd ask your vet for liquid if possible or if you can dissolve it.

My concern when dissolving meds is the amount that remains in the syringe or on the container that it's dissolved in. I discovered this wonderful pilling device that a vet gave me. A plunger type affair that has a long neck. Basically, you scruff and stuff. When giving heart meds they cannot be disolved as this affects when and how the meds function. The pill must be given as it is, hence the use of a piller ciao

I'm so glad she' home and doing better
For pill meds, I always crushed them, mixed the powdered pill into a small amount of chicken baby food, and swab it into the ide of the mouth with my finger. The key is to use a small amount of baby food, so you can wipe it into the side of the mouth. If you have too much babyfood on your finger, it's more difficult to get all the food into the mouth. You can always give a small finger full of food with no meds before and after the meds are given. That way, they gt only one yucky taste but two good bites too.

I like the ideas both of the piller, and the baby food. We actually do need to get a piller here.
