Occasionally (maybe once every couple of weeks) I notice Rufus has what kind of sounds like a sneezing or maybe a coughing fit. When this happens I always get him out of his cage (or pick him up if he's out) and cuddle him, and rub his throat (I dunno what prompted me to do thus the first time, but it seems to help him, so I've just continued with it)
He is lively as ever, everything else about him is fine. I just notice the coughing/sneezing fits every now and then and I wasn't sure if I should be worried...so I thought I'd ask :-)
Is this something bad? It hasn't really gotten any worse or I would have taken him to the vet. What should I do? I don't want him to be uncomfortable :-(
Sorry if this is discussed elsewhere but it's hard to read the different posts on my phone hehe :-)

It's shedding season I'd up the amount of pumpkin/lax he is getting to prevent a hairball right now. And please don't worry about whether or not it's been asked elsewhere- if it's been much discussed, we'll point you in the direction of that thread

It could also occur when he inhales dust or fuzz. They're low to the ground or snoozing in blankets so this is also a possibility. As Sherry has mentioned, it is shedding season so that to must be considered ciao

Ahhhh that makes sense. It's probably more a dust issue I think coz the last few times he's been on the ground ferreting around :-)
I'm in Australia so our shedding season would be the opposite to you :-) hehe
Thanks so much for the advice :-D
