Last night I went to PetCo w/ my friend to get stuff for her new puppy. While she was making Maya's tag I looked to my right, saw the cat section and remembered I wanted to get a new fishing-pole type toy for the kids. I looked at what they had and wasn't thrilled w/ most of the selection because they had thin strings and I know Kahlua could break them in an instant. Finally I happened upon one w/ a thick tether and it had a mouse on the end. It was one of the more expensive ones there (8.99) and I figured it was cuz of the mouse on the end and thickness/bungie-ness of the tether. I brought it home and let the kids play, they liked it pretty well but not any more than any of the others they've had. At one point Kahlua wouldn't let go of it and Morgan (as usual) started to scale the baby gate, it wasn't too far between us and him, so I stretched the bungie to grab him. As I stretched Kahlua let go and the mouse flew, hit the wall pretty hard and became the coolest toy ever. It has plastic eyes that light up and it makes a noise much like a mouse, not too squeaky though (not squeaky in a squeaky-toy way that would tick Kahlua off). As soon as it made noise and had flashy green eyes, everyone became enthralled, but SoCo was most interested. He has very short legs and already runs different from everyone else but when he went after the mouse it looked like he brought himself even lower, his ears pricked straight up/forward and he fallowed it as though his nose was attached. Every time he caught it, he tried to pull it away and stash it, or he would bite it and shake it like he was killing it. If anyone else started to play and caught it, he jumped on them and pulled it away. They were all wild about it, though, so awesome purchase!! I had to share it's called "Our Pet's Tiger Teaser Play Wand Cat Toy" and here's the link m.petco.com/Petco/product/detail.do?itemId=114326&categoryId=&path=
I've never bought them a toy that held everyones attention so well for so long. It was in use for at least an hour and a half straight and then for another like 25 mins after they ate. They loved it so much I had to share w/ you guys.
Also, my guys haven't ever really taken to dehydrated food unless I grind it up and sprinkle it on normal meals (and even then, SoCo still won't eat it. He'd rather starve) but I grabbed a bag of dog treats by maverrick, the lamb lung. It was the first time I've seen it there and I know how much they all loved the goat lung that my fiancee brought hone so I figured, dehydrated or not I'll give it a shot. I decided to offer a few pieces out if the bag and they ate them I had to share that too, also... Can I leave a few in the cage for them to nosh on while I'm @ work or would it mess w/ their poops? Thanks
