Well I'm transferring ship from over at Ferret Harmony, so It is lovely to meet you all, and good to see those of you I already know!
For those of you I have not had the pleasure yet of knowing, I am Red. I live up in the great cold state of Washington with my 4 ferrets, 1 cat, and The Beau.
The Ferrets are:
Bellatrix. Alpha of the cage and great white destroyer of toes. She loves people, especially the Beau. Most of the time she would rather be cuddled than run around. She is currently suffering from adrenal, but responding well to meds. We are happy to report that her fur is growing back in nicely and she looks SOOOOO cute and fluffy.
Kodo. The oldest of the bunch, he is 5 or so (we didn't have an age when we got him.) He is the mediator of the cage, and a lover...but don't let that lull you into thinking he's a pushover, he knows how to stand up for himself. He will also eat anything he can find...especially if he shouldn't eat it. He is having some stomach issues right now... we think it's IBD but we can't get a definitive answer yet.
Pandora...also known as Pan, Panda, Panda Bear, Bear, Bearington, Monkey, Moose, and "Hey you Get off the COUCH!" (OR any combination of the above...and no we don't know how some of them came about) She is the wild child and is constantly getting herself into situations she should not. Her greatest mishap was getting under the rug and The Beau stepped on her... luckily a few days in the sick cage on drugs from the vet and she was good as new... though we did learn she is a druggie...and a lush. *sigh* Her favorite past time is trying to leap off the back of my couch to her DEATH.
The youngest is Dr. Watson. He got the name because he is really quite smart...but just not a Sherlock.... *cough* He is also the biggest one in the cage now. Man how he grew. Since we have had him since he was a Kit we have been able to keep him from developing some of the bad habits the others have....Oh like eating rubber for example.... But he has been a challenge. Him and Panda keep each other mostly exhausted. I shudder to think what he would be like with out her.... CHAOS has a true form.
Artemis is the Cat.... Poor, poor Art. She is constantly suffering from the belief that if there is not food in her dish we are starving her to death. As I type she is sitting next to me trying valiantly to get my attention and convince me she has not been fed "In LIKE FOREVER" The indignities she suffers at their fuzzy paws. Best friend and Play thing for the ferrets. She normally just hides up on top of a shelf while they are out. She loves playing with Watson, they have developed a great relationship of scuffling. But Panda is just wicked to the poor cat. Bella just wants to cuddle her...and Kodo would rather just ignore her.
So there you have it. A fabulous run down of our resident fuzzies. I look forward to getting to know all of you and your fuzzies as well!
