With Pandora being insulinomic I am back to 2x daily soup feedings, unfortunately my kids do not really like the raw soup, they didn't during the switch and they don't now, I made the regular raw mix, but I am wondering if I should kick out the liver as they already eat liver and whole prey, don't want to overkill on it, but then it's pretty much just mashed chicken.
I thought Sherry? had a recipe for a cooked soup with whole chicken they might like more, I might try turkey for the next mix just to see how that goes over, for now I have to add all the juices from everybodys raw meals plus some freeze dried to get her to eat it so I've been doing raw soup morning, freeze dried at night, they love the FD but that gets kind of pricey fast. Speaking of which anybody use SC beef patties? Are they really easy to crumble like the chicken/duck are? I have a bag but haven't opened it yet because I have VE beef but those are hard to rip up and take awhile to rehydrate.

my old girl is insulinomic as well and in between feedings she has freeze dry always available it has been working well for me she prefers her regular raw but the freeze dry is just to nibble on my pro raw vet is the one that suggested it and she is doing great on it

If I leave freeze dried out that would be all they would eat! And they suck it down like candy little brats. They got some today because they finished their gizzards fast.
l I had ordered some Arch 1 forever ago and got it today, good news is they love it, I gave them some chunks dry. I will probably work my way through this as soup mix, it's almost all dust anyways, it's been some years since I've had this brand but that's not how I remember it being, we fed most of ours dry, there's no way I could do that anymore.

If she's eating liver otherwise, I'd leave it out of the soup. I gather the reason for feeding the soup is because of the pred? Or is she simply not eating enough on her own? If it's just because of the pred all she needs is about a tbsp of soup to coat her tummy and the hand fed freeze dried soup would work well for that. Or even just cook up some chicken, puree it, add in some powdered eggshell(1/2 tsp to 8oz of meat), and let her try it.

Yes it's for the pred, I started her on the lowest dose, wasn't going to but before her diagnosis I had noticed their playing level was way down as is how much they've been eating although weights have been fine. Mostly the problem is I am also feeding Craven, he's so elderly with health issues of his own I figure it's a good idea and he loves FD lol so they are spoiled a bit. Although if they only need that little to coat their stomach that helps, I've been giving one ice cube plus a little FD, or about half a patty FD, I wasn't really sure how much was enough. I will make the next homemade soup with turkey and no liver, maybe more hearts though, they do love those.

It's just so the pred isn't given on an empty tummy to prevent it from causing ulcers. And fuzz as a rule can't hold that much in one sitting. With my sickies that refused to eat, I'd try to feed a tbsp every couple of hours so one tbsp for the pred should do fine as long as she's eating otherwise

fuzz as a rule can't hold that much in one sitting. Yeah somehow mine have the amazing ability to barely touch an ounce of something boring like chicken over the course of 12 hours, but put down freeze dried and suddenly they have a bottomless hole for a stomach. ;D I might have a revolt on my hands if I cut their rations.

Of course! They don't actually have to chew with commercial raws, either FD or frozen ;D
