If you feed stella and chewys patties, I was wandering how you rehydrate it. Sometimes I add too much or too little water.

I just crumble them or rip them into chunks and then I add warm water (warm, not hot) until it slightly covers the meat. when it is hydrated it looks kind of like a thick chili. if you add too much water don't worry about it. if you notice, when you rehydrate the Stella & Chewys or Wysong Archetypal 1, you can see the blood (esp in the beef and duck duck goose formulas) they like that blood broth. my ferret likes the extra juices. he drinks it all then he starts nomming on the meat. too much water is not a bad thing bc it just means that they are getting extra hydration.

They reccomend you add 1/4 cup water. I find its too thick this way so I add a little more. You can feed it dry but it lasts longer rehydrated.

It is better to feed it rehydrated for their two main meals, or you run into the same problem with dehydration as you do with kibble.

I've never measured, I just crumble them up and add a little hot water until it seems soupy. My kids love it so they don't really care if it's a little dry or a little too wet, I like to add extra because I'm usually in a hurry and they are going nuts so I don't wait very long after wetting it.

Mine ar smart and drink while they are eating it dry. I have a bowl water next to the food and a bottle on the top floor. They rehydrate the dry food in their bellies. Poops and pees were always perfect and never any issues with dehydration. I know a couple other people do the same without problems.

Okay thanks, I am feeding her three meals a day of it rehydrated she never quits eating. She would eat the whole bag at once if she could. She refuses to eat it dry so leaving dry in there does nothing.

I have to have 2 water bowls for him and I have to change his water like 3 x a day bc he drops the chunks in there then he fishes then out and eats them. How innovative. But then his water is disgusting.

Lol yup mine will do that too sometimes. Another reason they have a wide mouth bottle just in case.

I have a bottle for him too. He prefers the bowls though (he likes to snorkel too).
