Maybe once or twice a week at most as a meal. Depending on what else you are feeding(in your case commercial), he will be lacking the heart from this one. But even fed as a snack it's still getting another protein into him That's the only way I can get kidney into my guys. I give them dehydrated elk kidney.

with Stella and Chewy's Lamb it has heart in it thats why i wanted to add the pheasant with the lamb to give him the other protein the only way Bandit will eat S&C chicken and lamb is it has to be in soup form he is spoiled lol.....i was hoping that i could mix those two proteins together.....i dont think he would take to it as a snack i had to trick him with Ziwipeak vension and fish i mixed it with the lamb ziwipeak and let it set a couple of weeks and he looked at me funny like he knew there was something else in there but he did take to the vension and fish after a few hand feedings with the lamb and vension and fish now he will eat it with no problems....but hopefully i can work something out with the pheasant tho.....

I guess my biggest concern is we don't know exactly what their taurine needs really are. And by feeding all commercial raw, it's balanced on a daily basis so by adding in one without in could throw the total off if you know what I mean? I guess it would depend on how much you use as far as that goes though. With the duck, is it possible he maybe threw up or something? If they have a negative experience they do make an association with what they were eating at the time. If that is the case, then you *should* be able to get him back into eating it by very slowly reintroducing it mixed in with his lamb in first minute amounts, and slowly increasing the ratio over time.

I only give those as treats and no more than 1/4 patty per day bc then he won't eat his food. Can you find Primal frozen pheasant? My ferret & dog love it.

No the canine variety(all flavors) has waaaaaay too much fiber (fruits and vegetables). The feline varieties are great but they don't have rabbit. They do have pheasant which I recommend. When looking for commercial raw foods the rule is no more then 5% fiber.

I was just checking out their "dog food". The only one with a really high level of fiber were the duck feet. The rest were 2%-5%.

Let me correct that. It's from .08% to 5%

Ok sorry the fiber is fine but look at the produce, it's 20% and above. The highest in the cat variety is 8%.
And just to verify we are talking about the complete formulas not the grinds and mixes.
