Before doing that, I'd try hand feeding him. Sounds like he's rebelling against it, and that may just get him over the "hump". Try putting him on your lap with the dish and spoon, keep offering it, and don't let him down the first time or two he tries to back away. I've found that when I've basically kept the spoon in front of their mouths, they'd almost lick at it compulsively- which suited my purposes to a tee ;D It got more of the raw soupie into them! Let me know how he does with the hand feeding.

I did that with Lil Bit and he ate it! I didn't have to water it down or anything. Max ate half of it, played a little, then rebelled against eating the rest eventhough he was hungry ( I put the kibble in the cage for overnight and he went straight towards it) so I then removed it and tried to feed him the raw but he kept pushing it away. This went on for a while even saving his nose in it didn't work. He ate some more (not watered down) this morning though so I don't know why he was fighting it.

. I really shouldn't laugh, but can't help myself! Been there, done that! First, that's fantastic about lil bit keep working with him like that for 2-3 days. I think you could likely leave the kibble out for up to 12 hours if you are hand feeding them. Just keep a really close eye out for any changes in activity levels and behaviours

They finished another batch. They never eat a full cube though it seems like they get disinterested. Still no luck with the pumpkin/EVOO I'll keep trying. Just thought I would leave an update.

Alright- let's start putting in a few slivers of meat now. Just threw e or four. They'll likely lick all around them, but try popping one into their mouths to see what they do with it. Ideally they'll eat them, but if they stash it, that's a good sign too. It means they think it's good and want to keep it just keep offering it in the soup til they eat them, then we can increase the amount.

I tried adding meats and they're still not taking to it but they OK now with the thicker soup. Ill keep trying. Should I add some EVOO into the soup? they really wont eat it alone and still no luck with the pumpkin. Any ideas? Also should I be posting more? I dont want to get kicked off the mentoring program.

Yeah, just keep trying with the slivers. Make sure they are no bigger than the end of your fingernail though. Have you tried adding the pumpkin into the soup? Sorry, can't remember And yes, if the EVOO will help them eat it better, by all means do so! As for your posting, it's fine People don't normally get their threads vaulted unless it's been quite a while since the last post. And we always ask for updates after about a week first

No I haunt tried adding pumpkin into it but will. Maybe the chicken slivers I added were too big. I'll try and make them smaller. And okay that sounds good. (:

They take the raw chicken and just chew on it without ever really swallowing it, so Ill try and cut it even smaller.

Ferrets don't actually chew much of anything ;D They simply scissor meat chunks off, hopefully small enough to swallow ;D

Oh maybe that's what they were trying to do. I'll see if cutting the meat even smaller will help.

Max will eat the meat sometimes however Lil Bit wont touch it. He just eats around it.

Will lil bit take it if you hand feed him a few pieces? It might make the difference. If not, we'll try something else
