I'm possible getting a FN 142 for $25 tomorrow!! And I'm also getting two more fuzzbutts with it for $35 rehoming fee. Yay ferret math! ;D Four is a good even number right? I'm so excited I think my brain might explode. A $300 cage for $25?! I might just die of excitement

I don't know, I'm still trying to wrap my head around it! Apparently they got them for their nieces, and they lost interest. I figured it might be damaged, but they said the only thing wrong with it is that it needs a thorough cleaning, otherwise it's in good condition. I'm officially picking it up tomorrow! And the best part is I get two more fuzzies to add to the family!

Its probably caked in urine poo and they were too good to clean it. I dont see how people can sell dirty things and are consiously ok with it! Great find either way I would pay $25 for someone elses laziness. And congrats on the ferret math!!

I don't mind terribly, considering I would be cleaning it regardless of whether it was dirty or not! I don't trust other people to clean properly/without chemicals. And yeah, I'm expecting it to be pretty dirty, considering the guy mentioned that his house is a wreck because his wife isn't big on cleaning. But for that price, I'm not complaining!

I'm hopeful that they'll be healthy. We'll find out tomorrow! Hopefully I'll be able to switch them without too much trouble, I just got Athena & Pandora off of kibble a couple days ago, so I'm hoping they won't be difficult about it

Not yet, I'm going later on today, I just have to wait until my roommate gets off of work so we can go. I'm not big on the idea of driving 3 hours by myself to some guys's house that I met on craigslist. Besides, my car is a VW Beetle, so even taken apart I don't think it'll fit, so we're taking his car. I'll definitely update as soon as I get home.

So as I thought the cage was absolutely filthy, like in the 2+ years they've had the cage, I doubt its been cleaned more than a handful of times, so its covered in filth. They also let the ferrets poop anywhere, so they often lie in their own feces and urine. The boy apparently had ear mites a little while ago, and was treated for it, but they weren't sure whether or not it worked. The only thing that worries me is the girl's anus seems really irritated; I'm not sure whether its a product of the environment she's been living in or if its a sign of something more serious. I'll post pictures of them & the cage sometime tomorrow, I don't have the energy to clean it and put it back together tonight, as I am exhausted from the 6 1/2 hour drive (round trip) & its about midnight here. What I really can't believe is how gross not only the cage was, but the entire house as well. There was dirty clothes and underwear all over the place, and the whole house smelled like urine I mean, the seem like nice people, but they just have really poor hygiene. Also, apparently they've only been out of their cage a handful of times in the past year they've had them. I really wish people would think before getting pets, if you aren't willing to take care of them properly, then you shouldn't have them. /rant for now. Sigh. The good thing is aside from the filth, the cage seems to be in good shape, no rust spots, no damage. I may have to get a replacement screw though, one of the ones gave him some trouble, & I think its bent. But still, for $80 (including cage, ferrets and gas) I'm amazed its not in worse condition. More updates tomorrow, time for bed for me.
