From the HFF facebook page: Does anyone here live in Florida? There is a lady who rescues ferrets that can't anymore she is maxed out and needs people to take a couple. If you are on the FML a post will be going out tomorrow with all the details. From what I understand is that she takes them from the pound and if she doesn't then they will be put down.

Is there a ferret underground that can transport these Ferrets to SC or at least GA? if my grandpa was alive, we probably would be down in FL in a month or so. But since he died, my grandma was put in a retirement home permanently in IN, so sadly, the Florida home was sold.

I'm planning a trip to Atlanta for either next weekend or the weekend after. I can do the Tallahassee - Atlanta leg of a transport if we can organize pick-ups and drop-offs.

I'll find the original post on the HFF page about it and see what I can find out. I've not read the FML in quite a long time.

I'm in nw Florida and have been working with a rescue. In the past I would foster dogs, but with teaching that is too much of a strain during the school year since I don't have kennels to put them in during the day. I've recently offered to be their ferret foster. I'm not familiar with fml. Depending on which part of Florida, I may be just as far away as Atlanta, Ga. However, if I can help I will.

Where in FL is she located? I have no car, but I can ask some of the college kids around campus - spring break is coming up and people are travelling around the state so someone may be able to help.

I think it's Jennifer, but she posted an organization that transports pets all over the US and Canada. I believe it was posted on the old forum. I have a contact for up here, there has to contacts down your way. I know that they were transporting pets from New Orleans up here. Most were transport drivers. ciao

I may be able to, if my mother will ever give a straight yes or no on the ferret issue.

I quote my mother "They stink up the house why would I want a stinky rodent?" oh mumsies. to BEGIN with, all her friends that had ferrets fed them kibble. I talked to one of my father's friends who owned one, and she said she fed him kibble. Not even just a ferret kibble, a CAT kibble that was high in grain I tried explaining to this obtuse woman that the entire reason why her ferret stank was because she did NOT take proper care of said ferret. But she refused to listen and pretty much gave me this ----> It annoyed me greatly.

Do you need me to take one or more in? I may be able to get help from Tally to here, but will need to prearrange everything.
