>.> How do spayed females react to attempted penetration? I was showing my parents pictures of Finn and they started asking all these questions about hobs in rut being around spayed females, and how the females react, etc...And I had no answers for them! Seeing as I only have farm ferts this isn't something I've had to contemplate before! (Sorry to jack your thread Mikey >.>)

they will try anything even your pillows I can attest to the pillow thing...Odin did horrible things to my pillows I think you're going to have to keep Fiona away from him. His ardour will outway any common sense (which by the way appears to be pouring out his ears ;D) This is no longer about friendship, this is about reproduction that is the strongest drive in the world. It outweighs everything. Finn is a strong young male in full rut. He recognises no friends, only his need. He will use Fiona if she doesn't fight him off. Come Aug/Sept this will all by a fuzzy haze to him and they will be friends again but right now...please be very careful allowing him to play with your altered fuzzes. He and Fenton may have come to a truce (by the way...he may not be in full season so please please be careful) but your wee sprite doesn't have a chance against him unless she really turns on him and fights. I honestly don't know if she could take him. I know that a full jill can put off a hob but with ferrets, it seems the fight is part of the "fun" I watched Lady "B" put Odin in his place but he just shrugged it off, what kept him in his place was Attila. Attila weighed in close to 5 lbs. Odin was a wee slip of a hob at just about 3.5 lbs. Lady "B" was barely his match and she weighed in at just under 3 lbs and is the same size (length and height). What I'm trying to say is that a small hob and two large alters could barely contain him....your hob is a big boy and your alters are small. ciao ciao

How do spayed females react to attempted penetration? Not well, as it can do a lot of damage. I know adrenal males, even neutered, can do this as well, but with either male or female.

Get him a "special" toy. You'll have to wash it on a regular basis but it will keep him occupied.

Is there something special that should be done to the "toy" to make it more appealing? I never did quite figure out Odin's deal with the sofa pillow but it became his (it got pitched when he got altered). It was a small square pillow with tassles ciao

Echo had a thing for our door snake., Hunter likes chair legs and Hamish goes for the vacuum hose.

He could have...it was taupe indian cotton textured cushion about 10 inches square. He would drag it all over the house. I would put it up on the sofa and he would jump up on the sofa and run off with this cushion. It was not a light cushion to drag around. He and I had a number of arguments about what was considered proper behaviour and treatment of decorative cushions I would find it stashed behind the vases in the hallway, stuffed in the corner behind the chair, under the bed, sometimes it actually found it's way into the ferret room. It developed quite the personality as I think he had his way with it a number of times ciao

Someone (I don't remember who) had a hob whose "little friend" was a duck made for teaching dogs to retrieve. He and his duck were inseparable companions.

LOL I like the idea of a special toy, if it would help him behave!
Any ideas about how to make the toy appealing to him, what kind of toy, where to get it, etc.?
He has a furry Kong Wubba that has a rabbit face and ears on it, but he has no interest in it so far...
I also think Finn is not in full rut since he isn't marking things with urine.

I think he liked the feeling of the cold metal.
