Eva (kibble eater) won't eat freeze dried food dry but likes it rehydrated with 1/4 to 1/2 cup slightly cooled but not too cool boiled water. Putting a little oil in helps entice her. I just pour the water over 1 patty and leave it for about 30 mins and smash it with a fork. I had to hold her in my lap and put a spoonful to her face.

Im sure it is. Little brats wont eat it rehydrated though I've never really bothered with it wet. My boys have a water dish. I think I tried it wet once just to do something different, and they didn't so much as sniff in it's direction.

When I was mentoring for Guili, we were instructed that all freeze dried foods were to be rehydrated. Otherwise, they were no better than kibbles (moisture wise). That a ferret will not drink enough to cover the water loss from their bodies. She had documentation too. No idea where she kept it , or got it, so I have no proof of what the losses were. The report and her explanation made perfect sense, so we instructed all our mentees that they had to feed rehydrated foods if they were going to feed it. ciao

And that makes perfect sense. After all, carnivores don't have any sense of thirst unless they are truly dehydrated.

S&C lamb is A fav here to along with NV freeze dried... Glad your guys like it! Oddly enough, my guys won't tough it if rehydrated wither! They like NV rehydrated, but not S&C... funny How do they like the Archetypal? I have to make another order with CHP in about a month, but I'll only get lamb this time... my guys just don't like goose nor duck it seems... how do you think the Archetypal would go? I should take a picture of my own "stash" hidden in my closet of ferret dry food lol!! It's pretty amazing!

I got some Duck Duck Goose today and he looked like he wanted to try it-snuffled into the bag and everything-but still required the imprinting process. It's a trip. So today, for lunch, it was chicken fat, chicken, turkey, pumpkin, supergravy and stella and chewy's. He misses the unsalted butter...alot.

He misses the unsalted butter...alot. He'll survive ;D And just think- you've got an excellent tool to get him to try something he needs to have, like pumpkin in the possibility of a blockage
