I have the Timothy hay for my rabbit however on the bag it says For Chinchillas, Rabbits, Guinea igs and *OTHER SMALL ANIMALS* however, I am wondering if it is safe for ferrets as well cause of the Other small animal part here is the ingreediants that it shows
Guaranteed Analysis Crude Protine(min) Crude fat(min) Crud Fiber(max) Moisture(max) Calcium(Min) Calcium(max)
Ingredients Natrual sun-cured timathy hay.
However, to me Hay is natrual grass that is just sundried in a way. I was thinking on sharing it between my rabbit + ferret that is why I asked if it safe for him specially cause of the Crude Fat

Your ferret would get nothing from this except maybe a blockage. I'd not be doing it.

I'm not at the moment, was thinking on maybe giving him a tincy bit like a treat type of thing. when I give lola(the rabbit) her big share. Basically I was thinking on maybe breaking off a small peace of one and give the rest to her. Right now i'm not giving him any the bag was just staring at my face when I had the thought of finding out.

No. None at all. It's no good for him, he can't digest it, and it could well accumulate in the stomach causing problems down the road. Ferrets have enough trouble, why go borrowing any For the future- anything not meat based is useless for them, and can cause more trouble than it's worth.

Ferrets only eat meat, and only get nutrition from meat, and should only have meat based snacks. Their food pyramid has only one level - Meat ;D Their stomachs do not have the same juices in them that rabbits and Guinea Pigs do so they can't get any nutrition from non-meat sources, and they can't break down the hay like those animals can. Its great that you're asking these questions! Its natural to want to spoil our babies and when you ask questions it shows that you are thinking about his health ~Kelli
