I'm trying to get an idea to see how much freeze dried my guys will go through in a month. 2lb boy, 1.5lb girl, 1.2 llb girl. Probably sticking to Stella and Chewy's right now, they loved the charming chicken, but no idea how much I need to look into buying. I need ideas, yall!!!

Hmm... Freeze dried. Expensive stuff. It's the main reason I switch to fresh raw - couldn't afford to feed it full time to my girls I went through approximately 2-3 16 oz bags a month. This was feeding two 1.8 lb girls. When first switching to a better diet (raw, freeze dried), they will eat, a LOT! Kinda like making up for lost time. After about 1-3 months, it seems to slow down a bit. It'll pick up again in winter, slow down summer, etc. To make it go further, I always fed it rehydrated. I'd use my blender to make freeze dried soup (mine did t like rehydrated chunks). Mine took to freeze dried instantly, and it was much easier to transition them to raw soup from freeze dried (maybe because they were done with carb withdrawals? )

Mine used to be on al all-raw diet, including bones, organs, meat. But switched to kibble because they had to start living in my parents' basement and I couldn't be sure to give them the raw as needed. So, long story short, Jack got insulinoma and I decided to try freeze dried for their health. They love soups and raw chicken. But, the freeze dried freaked them out a bit. They took to Stella and Chewy's nuggets and ignored ziwipeak (although the ziwipeak flavor was beef/venison, things they don't love as much as chicken). Not really sure the best route to go

Are you in a position now where you could do rmb's again? You could always supplement with the freeze dried during the day for Jack's benefit.

Will you be feeding it dry or wet? I found that it went a LOT further when fed rehydrated.

Well if you're trying to make it last longer I'd definitely recommend feeding it wet. It also keeps them well hydrated

Definitely I'd be doing rehydrated twice a day if possible, and just leave some dry in for munching during the day.

Mine go through...a LOT of freeze dried. Breaks the ole pocket! It takes them maybe a week to go through one bag of S&C's Chick, Chick, Chicken Dinner (purple bag, I forget how big actually am all out gotta buy more).
I also like Wysong's Archetypal I. The kids do too!

I tried rehydrated- like soup. They loved it. But, i noticed when I went back to see them the next day, it had dried a bit and they did NOT like to eat that. They will eat chick chick dry, but rehydrated, I can't seem to keep it from getting stiff. (Remember usually I can go see them once a day) Ideas?

Just rehydrate as much as they will eat, when I feed freeze dried I usually give 3 meals and then I leave some dry for inbetween and night, this is a treat like day for them though, I only have two ferrets and they would eat close to a patty each meal, plus some VE dry, I can't imagine the cost feeding it all the time. I just use it to get beef and lamb into them.

I see what you're getting at! I'd still rehydrate a bit, just so they are getting some extra moisture, but not enough for a full day. Just what they'll eat for a meal, and then leave in dried for the rest of the time.
