Hello, I am new here. I was told of this forum by a friend. I am interested in feeding raw, not mice, chicks or rats, since I have a pet rat, but an alternative raw. I have 2 ferrets, Penny and Allie. I got Penny at 3 months old and Allie I got from a lady who fed her cheap cat food! She is off the cheap cat food and both are on a high quality kibble. I sure could use some help, lol. Anyways, thanks.

Please feel free to prowl around and check out the forum. You may want to pay particular attention to the nutritional section as that appears to be a major interest. One doesn't need to feed prey to feed a good balanced diet. You can feed if you so desire a commercial ground and still reap many of the benefits of a natural diet. You can also feed frankenprey which most people find the easiest but requires a bit more thought as you are responsible for balancing the wee ones diet. Read through the various threads, ask questions, get involved in the discussions. Everyone's friendly, we don't allow bashing. All questions are relevant and there are no stupid questions.
I hope that I will be seeing you around, and hope to see some photos of your wee ones.

Thank you everyone. I haven't figured out how to post pics yet, still working on it. I would love to be mentored on the feeding. I have found myself becoming some what obsessed with giving my 2 girls the best diet, especially since my Allie came from a home that kept her in a cage in a laundry room and threw Meow Mix in her cage for food! She came to me with a rat tail. She has been to the vet, and the hair is growing back, but I have become obsessed with their diet and health, since they are prone to so much.

I guess I kind of figured out how to do pics. The silver mit, I guess that is her color, but she is darker than silver, lol. That is Penny. The Dew is Allie.
