I thought it was a little interesting that my friend Jason used to feed his ferrets those Fluker's Freeze-Dried Crickets..would they be considered decent treats for them, really? I've only ever given them to my bearded dragon when I had one lol (when there was a shortage of live prey). What are your opinions when it comes to feeding freeze-dried insects to ferrets?

I had a couple of fuzzes who liked live crickets...never tried the freeze dried ones I can't see why they wouldn't make a decent treat. ciao

I will give you a bit of a "warning" about freeze-dried insects, though I don't think it would apply to ferrets as much. With hedgehogs, there have been reports of major blockages (and deaths) occurring when people feed freeze-dried mealworms and crickets. (But only when too many were fed.. I believe) However, a ferret's digestive tract is obviously wider than a hedgehogs, so I'm not sure that would apply or not If you do feed the crickets, I would personally pull the legs off. I did use to feed them occasionaly with my hedgehog and the legs were really dry and almost sharp

Since insects are a part of a wild weasels diet, certainly. It's just another protein. With almost any insect, they can be fed once every couple of weeks as a meal, or simply used as a treat.

Sounds like they would make for a decent treat. And I'll consider removing the back legs too (I've had plenty experience doing that haha). Thanks guys.
