Hey everyone, I have a question that I'm debating on. Anyway, this morning 2 dogs came and killed 3 of my rabbits. I was wondering if I should feed them to the ferrets or just bury them? They were perfectly healthy, the only reason I'm questioning it, is because of the dogs. One of the rabbits died from a heart attack so I will be feeding her, but the other two, one had his throat ripped out and the other is just missing a leg. Would the meat that the dogs didn't get in their mouths be okay?
(Just for the record, I am in the process of figuring out if they were strays or my neighbors. Pictures were taken, it was documented by me and everything just in case. All the other rabbits have been moved into the building where the dogs won't be able to get to them.)

I would feed them....actually my rabbit supplier just sold me at a discount 2 of her rabbits that her sight hounds got hold of (her kids let the dogs out in the bunny yard , they're only babies..the skin kids that is , the rabbits were a couple of her breeding stock ) ciao

Okay thank you. Yeah these were my show rabbits, both does were bred, the English Spot doe was due 2/5, the Harlequin I just bred yesterday. I'm rather upset about it. Some breeders told me to go ahead and get law enforcement involved and that the owners should have to pay for them (the 2 Harlequins I paid $100 for and the English Spots I only paid $6 for because the breeder was selling out and needed them gone asap). But I don't know if they'd do anything about it or not. The big black one came running at me growling, I did the same and it took off in my neighbors direction. It's just a very frustrating situation.

For now, I'd put them in the freezer if you are going to call law enforcement. They may just decide if they are fed that you got your money's worth out of them. Call it a precaution. But yes, after it's all over, I'd feed them.

I would freeze until law enforcement is done with the situation.
Then feed them to the ferrets.

We decided not to call the law, we're going to talk to the neighbors, if they don't keep them tied or anything, I'll call AC. If it's not their dogs, AC is getting called to come get them. Found out that some other neighbors have threatened to shoot them. (I live way out in the country where this is quite often sadly. I admit this morning I wanted to get my rifle and kill them, but I was really upset.)
