Do you know if Stella and Chewy's is ground up? That's what I was thinking was get them eating the freeze dried raw and take away kibble completely while still giving soup. I originally ordered it for my gang of already raw eaters as a treat. Anything duck is like their chocolate, but after the dream treats went over so well, decided I'd use it more with Iris and Anya. I want them off the kibble!

I want them off the kibble! It is. It comes in patty form, easy to break and crumble up. And don't forget, take away the kibble for about 12 hours before trying them with some soupies, too

Why do they need to throw the pumpkin seeds in there anyways? It's the 6th ingredient. I dont understand. Why would even a dog need them??? You really don't need to answer. Just venting I guess.

;D Not a freaking clue. And since S & C has only 5% non digestibles, I don't worry about it too much. And I've never found whole ones in there. Only in the NV freeze dried.

Iris loves the S and C's duck duck goose! Anya is interested, but I didnt see her actually eat it. Iris has taken to the freeze dried so well. I'm excited!

Perfect! Once you can get Anya on board, either with this, or even with the soupies, start slowly moistening the freeze dried til it's the consistency of soup. Then we can start adding in the raw

Not a whole lot to update you on. Anya appears to be eating the duck duck goose now. I've been backing off on offering them kibble. That's about it with them.

Are you going to try adding in some actual meat, or is the plan to keep her on freeze dried?

Yes I am planning on adding meat. I decided to get them going on the freeze dried so I can get them off kibble and not have to worry about not feeding kibble so many hours before raw. I ran out of turkey baby food and was low on money or I would have tried mixing in a little ground turkey. T'was payday today so I'll be getting more turkey baby food. Too bad they wont eat the other baby food meats. I have tons of them.

That's the nature of ferrets for you ;D They only want what you haven't got! Let me know how they do with the ground mixed in. And good idea about using the freeze dried with them instead of the kibble. You've also got an "emergency" food that way as well.

I tested out Anya's hunting instinct tonight. She is a natural! Her instinct to eat the mouse after is strong, but she couldn't get over the new flavor. She kept trying to eat it but would paw at her mouth after getting the taste in her mouth. It might be too late in the season to find some baby chicks, but if I can find one I want to try that. She is strutting around tonight after her hunt, so cute! I just love the little blood thirsty killers. She might not be so hard to get from raw to whole prey. Iris is a whole other story.

It hasn't gone great. She and Anya have both stopped eating the freeze dried for some reason too and nothing has changed with it except that I haven't been giving them any kibble now. Don't know what's up with that. Iris decided she will eat chicken baby food now tho.

Alright. So a step or two back ;D Not a big deal. Start mixing in a wee bit of raw puree into the baby food. Not much, just a dab. As she takes it, start mixing in more and more, with less and less baby food til it's all raw puree.
