Sorry, I thought I had replied to this... Try hand feeding some marrow and see if that helps with the bones. And why are they mixed with beef? What bones are you using? If you just use chicken wings you won't need to mix them into anything because they will already be mixed into the wing-meat... Try that plus hand feeding the marrow and let me know how it goes. In the meanwhile, what other meats can you get access to to add variety to their diet? Also a a *just in case* note, these bones are totally uncooked correct? Even microwaving for a few seconds can make them more brittle and likely to splinter.

Okay that sounds better than mixing the bones mixed with the beef. Im using chicken bones from chicken breasts.
I can get them turkey once thanksgiving gets closer.
yeah they are uncooked. My mom always taught me if your giving an animal bones dont give them cooked bones.

Your mom is correct. Cooked bones are very dangerous. Can you get some chicken wings instead of breasts? The bones are smaller and will be easier for them to chew (and easier for you to break up). Keep in mind that hey have to build up their jaw strength and if you start with one of the harder, thicker bones they'll have more trouble. Instead start with smaller bones like wings, or chicken backs and build them up to thicker bones. Some bones will always need to be at least cracked to give them a starting point though, like leg bones, turkey necks, pork ribs; etc. Get some chicken wings and just crush the bones in the wing and feed them the mangled wings. I think you'll find that's easier for them and for you...

lol hey that is good progress though! Keep it up. Continue to try to introduce new meats as well. I would like to see a full list of what they are currently eating please. (i.e. chicken, chicken liver, hearts, chicken wings/legs bones, pork, beef, turkey yadda yadda).

Great! Keel up the progress. See if you can try turkey this week. Also, look around and see if you can find more organs. You need another organ to feed along with the liver. Liver should be about 50% of the total organ meat. Other organs are things like kidney, spleen, stomach (IF you can get them to eat stomach lol), uterus (may be labeled as uteri, uteries, etc), or brains. Brains and kidneys are especially good and usually the easiest to find. Brains are high in taurine (like heart) as well as being rich in many other nutrients. Also, if you can find organs from multiple sources that is really old. So for example you might feed pork liver one week, chicken liver the next week, and beef liver the next. The more variety in meat types the better. Let me know how the organ hunt goes! And what they think of turkey.

i got a little bit of turkey today and just got done feeding them. Momo seemed to scarf her portion i gave her, Casper needed a little convincing it wasn't going to kill him, Ringo ran off with his and hissed at the other ferrets . What kind of brains should i get i would say cow since its easiest to get, but im not sure.

You can get cow brains? Wow I didn't think anyone sold those anymore. I'll check on that, I'm not sure. Pork brains are what most people feed, and IME tend to be the easiest to find. And of course if you ever decide to feed whole prey that has brains too. If you buy whole animals (like if you can get your hands on a whole rabbit or whole bird that you can butcher yourself) that will have brains obviously. Definitely look for pork brains, and I will ask about the cow brains. Mad Cow disease isn't really "going around" these days...

I believe the issue of BSE has passed. It's never been illegal, just unadvised while that was happening. There has been such a crack down, and no new cases in the US since 2005 that I'm aware of, that it should be ok.
