Until I'm better educated and in a more convient situation to switch my girl over to a Raw diet what would you reccomend as the best kibble to feed? I honestly had no idea that people fed ferrets raw diets until I found this forum I feel like a little kid learning all over again! Thanks.

I don't feed kibble but the wysong ferret Epigen 90 seems like the best one.

Before I went raw I used the Evo Ferret and had good results on that. Also if you cant find the Evo Ferret, the Evo Cat food is essentially the same thing...

Remember, a ferret will eat less on a high-quality diet. A ferret will require less of the Epigen-90 to get the nutrition it needs. We cheaper foods, ferrets need to eat more.
Also, there's a correlation between carbohydrates and insulinoma in ferrets. The vet bills and medications add up very quickly with insulinoma.
If you find you cannot afford the Epigen-90 exclusively, you may want to consider providing a mix of Epigen-90 with another high-quality kibble.

I second Jennifers suggestion. I dont reccomend the EVO food anymore because they were bought out by procter and gamble and the quality isnt that great anymore. Check out the more dooks food chart you can do a mix of 1 or 2 blue foods and 1 green food. moredooks.herobo.com/search.php?chart=ferretSent from my SCH-M828C using ProBoards

No, it's not unfortunately. But the only one that's changed to date is the Evo.

That list was prepared prob when EVO was still owned by natura foods. However, it was updated after that bc I think that Epigen 90 came out after P & G bought natura. Anyway, Jennifer is right. Insulinoma is a tough gig. It is expensive to treat (proglycem is expensive). I know several folks that feed Epigen 90 and they all report that their ferrets eat much lesd of it. So you get more bang for your buck.

It's not a kibble, but Stella and Chewy has a ton of freeze dried raw products that are complete and perfect meals for ferrets. They have a new cat line (that I've never tried) but the dog stuff is awesome (my kids live duck duck goose and chicken). You can rotate a minimum of 3 proteins just as you would do with raw.
It's expensive (I thinK like $10 for 6 oz) but it makes more when it's rehydrated. You can leave it dry as a snack and rehydrate it for meal time. The extra moisture will keep your baby hydrated and it has as the benefits of raw.
Babies eat a ton, especially when switching to raw, so be prepared to spend a good chunk of $$.
Just for comparison, one of my girls (2 lbs, 1 yr old) ate about 16-20 oz of freeze dried a month. So about $30 worth a month.
