Awww! He was a real beauty Please, don't allow your heart(or your husband's) to be closed off to another furfriend of the bunny kind. It really does sound like he had a wonderful home.

Oh my goodness! Thank you all for the condolences. I'm overwhelmed! Sherry@ Not to worry, that would never happen in this house. I couldn't live without animals around me and part of what helps me when I'm grieving is to get someone new to live with us. New pets always bring so much joy. Plus I believe in reincarnation and I know some of my animals have come back to us a few times. One of our rabbits we had three times so far and our female beagle that we have now we had before when we first got married. I was distracting myself yesterday by looking up stuff on flemish giants on the computer. I came across one that was in a shelter and decided we should adpot her. When I called she was already adopted out. Then I came across a breeder not too far from me that had some 9 week old babies. I contacted the woman and then just decided to sneak out and get one for my husband. Even though its not the same I thought it would help if he had another one to fuss over. We've never been without a rabbit before. I had a rabbit when we met and two weeks into dating I convinced him to buy one we saw at a pet store. We used to keep 4 at a time so if one died there were always other ones still there. Even though we have a lot of animals here it was weird being suddenly rabbitless. The woman was 45 minutes away so I had to make up a good lie so I could get out of the house. I sent him a pic of the new baby on the way home and he didn't get what I had done right away. I had to tell him to look at the pic more closely ( as in.. do you notice he is sitting in the passenger seat of OUR truck ). His first reaction was disbelief then he said to me "well I guess when I die instead of going to the funeral you'll be out on a date!" But he likes him and all four of us got to talk about Mulligan while we were getting to know the new guy. He is really pretty, sweet and laid back. He seems to be ok with all the other animals so far except the ferrets. They make him nervous but they were getting all up in his face like ferrets do sniffing him all over. None of them saw him as dinner, they were just checking him out then went on their way to wreak havoc somewhere else. Again, thanks for all the condolences! I will pass them all along to my husband too.
