Hi all!
Hope everyone has had a lovely holiday. I know weasel has had his share of a good time knocking all of the ornaments off of the tree and pushing them around the apartment
I was wondering if anyone has any opinions or suggestions on different brands of commercial frozen raw. I'm currently feeding frankenprey, but my local stores have stopped carrying pork rib end bones, so now i'm down to only two sources of readily available bone- chicken and cornish hen. Its a bit impractical for me to order from hare today, due to the fact that they have the order minimum and I only have one ferret and a very small freezer. So, I was thinking of maybe doing 50-60% frozen commercial, and 40-50% frankenprey. Im hoping this way I can get more variety (venison, rabbit, duck) and better balance into Weasel's diet, while still reaping the enrichment and teeth cleaning benefits of frankenprey.
Sherry, if i am not mistaken, don't you feed a combination of commercial and frankenprey? If not, forgive me I must be thinking of another member, holidays have my brain a little mushy.
I have a local holistic pet food store that can order pretty much any variety of commercial raw, and they have some brands for cats that contain NO vegetable matter, only meat, bone and organ. I'm planning on heading over to take a look at what they have.
I have a reliable source for muscle meats and liver/brains (pork, chicken, turkey, hearts, duck occasionally, and CGH), and can easily get chicken and CGH bone in meat.
I guess i'm just looking for opinions and experiences that everyone has had with various commercial raw brands, as wella s what others have done in similar situations.
